Ok, I will sack it. What about Breaking Bad? Is it worth me buying the first series?

Also, is The Wire worth buying?

I disagree - I think Game of Thrones is good and worth seeing.

Not a fan of Breaking Bad although it has had a lot of praise.

The Wire is the best series ever as far as I am concerned. Definitely worth buying because it is difficult to understand what is going on in the first couple of episodes so it is good to have a chance to spend some time with it. The depth of characterisation, plotting and acting in all five seasons is stunning. I hope you give it a try.

I will get the first series of The Wire.

The wire is the best TV show of ALL TIME, just above Six Feet Under and Mad Men.

Game Of Thrones was just not my cup of tea sorry guys.

not that is was "bad" or anything it's just not something i can bring myself to care about.

Just watched the two parter of CSI tonight with las vegas and new york coming together, it's the first time i've seen an episode of CSI.

Are they worth getting on a box set and which CSI is the best?

That must be 10 years old now? Good stuff though.

I must be the only person who hated The Wire. I watched two episodes, didn't have a clue who was who, what was going on, and why the fook I'd wasted two hours of my life.

I prefer Law & Order.

CSI used to be good but I lost interest when they brought in Ted Danson. The earlier (i.e. first 9) series with William Petersen as Dr Gil Grissom were the best.

I know we've had this discussion before but I would still encourage you to try watching those two episodes again. It's only two hours. Smile

I agree. CSI Vegas was the original series and probably the best. I learnt loads of techniques in how to avoid the rozzers. New York and Miami were good as well.

I prefer Law & Order.

You have to work out who the characters are for yourself.

they don't wear name-badges.

no wonder you couldn't get into it. Stick to intellectually vacuous nonsense like New Girl and 2 Broke Girls.

It's utter shite. I prefer drama where you can understand what's going on - not arty shite that no one understands, not even the person who wrote it.

I've ordered The Wire and I'll let you know what I think. After The Sopranos, 24 and Boardwalk Empire it will be a hard act to follow.

I've been watching 'Orphan Black' for the last few weeks. It's pretty good but I'm confused. It's shown on BBC America and most of the programmes on there are English. This seems to have several English people and several American people and it's filmed in New York, so I'm not sure if it's English or American. I've asked a few people in England, but nobody seems to have heard of it.

Watched Harry Brown today, with Michael Caine. Pretty decent film and only cost £3 from Tesco.

Brilliant. I watched Season 1 in just over 24 hours. Sad, I know. It may have overtaken Breaking Bad as my favourite series ever - and I think Breaking Bad is pretty damned awesome. Two great shows.
