I've got a touch screen device, but I hate it. Will use it for now though.Breadman wrote:If you've got a touch screen device, you can use the on screen keyboard.
That's what I had to do with mine for a while after you (coincidently) made me snort coffee all over it because I was laughing so hard and half the keys packed up.
It's a ball-ache but it works.
Could be a software problem. I recently changed to an upright mouse,so I'll have a look at reverting to my old mouse, and see if the problem goes away.

Don't take the general discontent with multiple personas personally. You merely highlighted a problem - you are not the problem. We love you. Now chill out.

Wot he said.
Jesus I can't believe all this!
This site is for grown ups - it is used by people with brains in their heads - we the mods are not your mums, we don't spoon feed you, we don't wipe your bums and more often than not we don't tell you what to do.
Nuts has had a history of trouble with fake accounts - a large part of that has been of our own making.
Fake accounts can be funny when used as a joke but disruptive when used to manipulate and abuse.
We simply can't stop fake accounts being made - we can't sift for certain the genuine accounts from the fakes most of the time.
In real life people can be two faced, they can mimic and imitate other people, they can tell lies and mislead. In real life people post as other than themselves on twitter, facebook and every other kind of social media - so why should Nuts be any different from the norm?
All we can do is to ensure the best we can that the mods of this site try and run this site as genuinely as we can.
The Gorilla account is almost certainly a fake run by Boggars.
But what if the Boggars account is also fake run by say Nat - it has been accepted on here and has posted loads of times and been accepted by nearly everyone on here.
Johnny for a bit of fun pretended he was banned and started a new fake account so he could carry on posting last night - was that so bad of him?
Why do people think it is ok for Johnny to do what he did but not Boggars - they effectively did the same thing.
Natasha is a fake account - no one believes she is a real person but we all (at least I certainly do) would love her to start posting again on here.
What I'm trying to say is that it is not the fake accounts that are the problem it is more what they are used for and how others react to them.
Johnnys harmless joke last night seems to have massively back fired because people have once again actually believed what they've seen on the internet as the truth and not as some sort of a game.
For what it is worth I think it best that we put a stop to any more obviously fake accounts for now - the Milk account has been banned (Bread and Milk - I assume is where the user name came from). Johnnys account has been completely deleted - I assume he asked for that to be done based on the reaction by some that it has caused.
As for the Gorilla account, it has already been outed so there is not much point leaving it as it is and letting people react to it or not knowing who is behind it.
Is that fair and reasonable to everyone?

I don't disagree with most of Sluffys post, and even the bits I do, I don't put the time in to be a mod so I shouldn't judge. Apart from one bit. Has Johnny really been deleted?

There's a massive difference between fake "comic persona" accounts and fake "I'm going to use this one to start trouble and wind people up" ones.
For the record, the reason I have such a problem with them is because of what went on during "that thing" between me and Scott. (With whom I genuinely have no beef now, by the way.)
One of the site's owners, nah actually.....sod it, time for some truth....Whittam spun me a load of shite via PM and played me like a fiddle, presumably for his own amusement.
And I fell for it because when you've got one of the site's founders telling you something supposedly with a straight face, it's not inconceivable that you will believe it.
But it was all shite and it just stirred up more pointless trouble.
And I was annoyed at myself for falling for it.
And that's where fake accounts can be detrimental to a site like this.
And it's why my guard automatically now goes up when I see one.

right seeing as it's quietened down a bit can we all calm down now please? Tis the season to be jolly and be kind to all mankind (even multiple accounts) and all that.
We need some Christmas cheer on here, where's Boncey with a Christmas related accident to regale us with when you need him?
