Not sure of your laws, but the best result for everyone is to get it paid and not close the company down. My guess is the money is squirreled away and will come out only after a judge says pay up. Makes no sense for any taxing authority to close a business without trying to make a deal to get the maximum payment.Fabians Right Peg wrote:Breadman wrote:

Not sure that's an option, think if the judge finds in favour of HMRC, then BWFC is history, no option to pay we just get closed down.

They have tried to get the maximum payment but having now failed in doing that have resorted to taking the club to court for none payment, not sure how it would work but in effect we are hoping we can either convince HMRC to agree to an adjournment application, or that the judge will up hold an application that is not supported by HMRC.
If the hearing does go ahead then all we can say is that we will pay the debt in full, something that would happen anyway if the judge was to issue the winding up order as the only additional cost would be to manage the order itself, so I don't see why the judge would not take a dim view on the games being played and go through with it?

I wouldn't be surprised if the money that's allegedly been raised goes into Ed's pocket as a 'success fee' the same way the profit on Anelka and Cahill did. I'm not surprised there's no news on a deal and the same garbage about 'soon' is being spouted by Iles and Nixon after they spent all week saying a preferred bidder would be named today. I'm becoming more and more convinced that Eddie is playing for time to give his so-called Supporter's Trust cronies a chance to take over.
I've had it with the man, as far as I'm concerned he's totally destroyed his own legacy with this club with the games he's played over the last three years. In my honest opinion we'd be better off if he sold the club to Del boy and Arthur Daley because they'd be more honest than him.

It's all a joke, we will just be as skint as we are now should any deal but the Tamraz one go through.

I'm hoping we'll get an announcement just before the game, and then they will produce the new owners prior to kick off.
There again, I also hope to get all 3 points.

DEAN Holdsworth’s Sports Shield consortium remains in the driving seat to complete a takeover as talks went into extra time at Wanderers.
The former striker, who was granted exclusivity by the Whites board on Thursday, is undertaking legal work in order to be granted a Share Purchase Agreement – which is the deal-breaker in buying the club from Eddie Davies.
After that, the Football League would need to rubber stamp their business plan and the staff they plan to involve. But those hoping for a resolution before tomorrow’s clash with QPR are to be left disappointed with an official announcement unlikely until the High Court hearing on Monday.
Wanderers were ready to go into administration by the close of business today if they felt the chances of finding a new owner were unlikely. But with Sports Shield racing to complete and at least one other party also making progress in the background, they have ruled that out for now.
Owner Davies tried to calmed talk that an agreement was imminent by claiming four parties were still in talks this evening.
But The Bolton News understands that one – Sports Shield – is still out in front and in the event that their bid fails, there would be significant difficulty for another bidder to pick up the pieces.
Sources at the club remain confident they will be able to demonstrate that a deal with a new owner is close enough to earn an adjournment when they attend the court in London on Monday morning.

A tweet from Iles at the time the article was printed -
To underline - club wanted assurance a buyer was in play and close by the close of play today. Evidently they have that. Extra time.
HOWEVER his final tweets of the night a couple of hours later -
Takeover once again at delicate stage. Nothing will be concluded tonight. Rapidly losing patience and faith it ever bloody will...
As things stand, not optimistic.
So everybody clear about what is going on then!

On the face of it Sluffy, we should just leave our hopes and dreams at the front door, wait and see, and open the door to disappointment, it's the BWFC way.Sluffy wrote:DEAN Holdsworth’s Sports Shield consortium remains in the driving seat to complete a takeover as talks went into extra time at Wanderers.

Holdsworth's lot will never take over the club.
This is just more stalling from ED to buy time on Monday by pretending that a deal is close so he can carry on flogging everything that's not nailed down.
Before he moves on to the stuff that is like the hotel.
