For the record, and just in case Sluffy massively misses the point of what I'm about to write (again), I am NOT about to suggest that Eddie Davies is like Hitler.
But......
...when I read all the bollocks about all the European nights and punching above our weight for years thanks to his backing and all the great players we had about ten years ago and all that stuff....
....there's a big part of me that wants to shout: "Shut up!!! That counts for nought now, doesn't it...?"
Hitler did a lot for Germany in the 30's and early 40's.
The country was on the bones of its arse and their economy was in tatters.
So he set about a creating a programme of works to achieve full employment and restore some national pride.
And it worked!
Der Deutsche Volk loved him for it and thought he was their saviour - Woohoo! Go Adolf !!
But where did it ultimately get them?
Beaten in a world war and worse off economically than they were before he (stole) power in the first place.
So what I'm saying is this, it doesn't matter what you've achieved in the past if your long-term legacy is economic ruin and the utter destruction of your infrastructure.
And that's where we are now, so you can shove your fond memories of Freddie Bobic scoring a hat-trick against Ipswich or seeing that fat kid from Leeds crying on Sky Sports News after we relegated them up your arse because it's all worthless now.
