Is no one else a bit intrigued by the fact that Trevor Birch looked so uncomfortable when he left court earlier?

The guy from Sky was basically blowing smoke up his arse and trying to get some cheerful sound-bites but Birch looked like he'd just been convicted of having a poo on the lawn at Buckingham Palace to me.

He couldn't get away quick enough and he definitely looked as though he didn't want to appear all happy and relieved.

I just found it odd and it left me wondering what else is going to come out over the next three weeks....

He didn't look "shy", he looked like he was on the verge of crapping his pants and the nearest toilet was about 50 yards away - Close enough to get to in time, but no guarantees and absolutely no time for exchanging pleasantries with some bloke from the telly.

He looked a proper worried man.

Almost as if he knew he'd have to answer shortly thereafter to Big Ed for having had to play the "Deal done, club sold to Sports Shield, your Honour" card in court, the one that Davies had told him only to play if all else was lost.

ie, Anything but the preferred option but up his sleeve in a worst case scenario way if everything else failed.

Which it did.

There's still loads more yet to come out about all this, I tell thee......

Bredders,- you should change careers and start writing novels as you've got a very lively imagination

Breadman, I enjoy your posts and sense of fun, but you have to be the most suspicious, cynical character I've ever come across. You'll accuse me of being naive, but surely it's time to be joyous. Let yourself have a little smile. Things have worked out well in the end.......I think!! Neutral

I am very much a product of my working environment.

Everybody lies to me, all the time and I spend the majority of my day trawling through shit to get to the truth.

"I can't help your business if you're going to lie to me and paint a false picture about how you're performing" is a phrase I sadly have to use all too frequently.

So yes, I am very cynical.

But I very rarely get ripped off....... Wink

The amount of money involved doesn't sound like there will be any significant additions to the squad soon

It will be very interesting to see if they can pull that off. How much effort (striker and central defender) goes into keeping us in the Championship will be very telling.

He also said he wants a hands on approach to the football matters but that he will not step on any managers toes. He wouldn't name anyone involved in his consortium as they are very private people. And he welcomes discussion with the supporters trust

Earnshaw has a long list of admirers, need to get in there early.

It's only a few months ago that people were so against Gartside and Davies that any regime appeared preferable.

But since Gartside has died and suddenly everybody is nothing but sentimental towards the guy, it seems Holdsworth and his people have got more winning over to do than they'd have otherwise had. Obviously all the talk of Tamraz or whatever he's called hasn't helped either.

My main problem is he won't even tell us where the money is coming from I.E who the people are behind this bid.

cosying up to the fans but won't reveal the one thing of actual importance.

Alright it's early days, but still it'd be nice to know who's got their mits on the club and what they actually have/want to offer it or not as the case may be.

Precisely. The club survives, but what do the new owners expect from it? I'm sure they are well meaning, but I also doubt that they are philanthropists. How do they plan to recover and make profit from their investment? I'm not being negative - just curious to see the business sense in the investment beyond selling off the assets and doing a runner.
