Midfielder Curcic signs up for a Wanderers return
Sasa Curcic has become the latest former player to confirm their attendance at the Legends fundraiser this Saturday.
The Serbian wizard, who won 14 caps for Yugoslavia, spent just over a year at Wanderers after arriving for £1.5million in October 1995.
He was known for his silky skills, scoring four goals in the club’s first-ever Premier League campaign before signing for Aston Villa for £4m.
His career went downhill from there – with short spells at Crystal Palace, New York Metrostars and Motherwell – before his retirement aged just 29.
He will line up alongside the likes of Jay Jay Okocha, Ivan Klasnic, Nathan Blake, Jason McAteer, Alan Stubbs and many more on Saturday to help raise money for the Bolton Wanderers Community Trust and the Bolton Wanderers Supporters’ Trust.
More big names will be confirmed as the week goes along but organiser and team captains John McGinlay and Tony Kelly have urged all fans to get involved.
“We haven’t had much to shout about this season,” said McGinlay. “But we need to put some smiles back on people’s faces so I hope people come along and join in the fun.”
Kelly added: “We’ve got some great players signed on who helped make this club the one we all love. And we’re raising money for two very good causes.”
The match will take place at 3pm on Saturday with tickets priced at £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s and concessions. A special family ticket (two adults, two under-16s/concessions) is priced at £25.

Deserves Legend status for his career outside of football if it is all true!

I thought his alcoholism had got the better of him so it would be great if he's back on track.
This wasn't his finest moment that's for sure....

I probably wouldn't go even if I still lived in Bolton.
I've been to one or two testimonial games over the years and generally have found them to be disappointing. Yes I know it is more about the occasion than the match but I'd rather show my appreciation for the player by putting money into his collection rather than be completely underwhelmed at players half heartedly going through the motions, not tackling and letting in contrived goals in order to make the game a 'thriller'.
As for the aim of this match, I still have no idea what it is for?
Is it a money raiser for the club, or the Supporters Trust, or the Charity, or a combination of two or all of them, or for something else completely different?
Anybody actually know?
Talk about Davies keeping people in the dark!
So although I was never going to go anyway, I wouldn't be going even if I could!
Hope those of you that do go thoroughly enjoy yourselves anyway.
It simply isn't for me - I rather remember the players in their prime rather than being old, slow and greatly overweight like the rest of us at a certain age already are.
