With everyone getting carried away with the "inevitability" of Leicester winning the Prem (me included) it seems like all the pundits missed the significance of yesterday's draw at Man United.
Whilst they were praising the benefits of getting a hard earned point they failed to realise that the only difference between drawing and losing is that it created the obscure scenario of Leicester now being able to get draws in their last two games to win the title.
If Spuds win all their games they will have 78 points and a vastly superior GD to Leicester (currently 9 goals ahead) so Leicester have to get to 79 points to be sure of winning the title.
That draw took them to 77 with two games left so they still have to beat either Everton or Chelsea - or get two more draws. Of course Spuds could hand it to them, but they shouldn't forget that the winning line is still a way off for Leicester despite the platitudinous punditry. Not quite a done deal yet.
Another scenario is that Leicester allegedly wrote some ridiculous bonuses into the player's contracts presumably because they thought their own chances of winning the Prem were minimal. Ranieri alone is supposed to be getting a £5million bonus if they win. Maybe the Leicester board have realised they'd be tens of millions better off finishing second rather than winning the title?
