Dave Brubeck died yesterday aged 91. This is his best known number. It has been the opening title for a number of programmes. This live performance is from 1961.

You got me on a roll last night RT, will you please give your fingers a rest tonight then I can give mine time to recover from keyboard blisters!?! Great choice btw. Dave Brubeck was a grand age that I'd settle for. Not watched that vid but I assume it's Take Five?

Just a quick one tonight. Musical themes from films. Many, many to choose from. This was a great film and the music at the end was brilliant. Ennio Morricone is a genius.

As this could be my last Friday night on this earth I am going to wallow in some nostalgia from the seventies. Back then, Friday night was Disco night. Starting off with a few drinks in the sweet Green Tavern and the Painters Arms and then on to Pips or Scamps. Great times when you were young, free and single. Tanked up with Skol or Grunhalle lager the world was your oyster!!!!
This was the music we used to boogie down to back then.

If I wasn't feeling so melancholy I would go and get my Oxford Bags and platform shoes out of the loft. Another classic from one of Birmingham's finest musicians.
This was the B side on the ' Love really hurts without you ' seven single. .It never got the credit it deserved.

Happy memories. This one used to be a slow one when you ended up with a deerstalker in your flares.

EWF and The Commodores were always part and parcel of a good night out. As the night wore towards a close they always finished up with a few slow songs so us youngsters could get up close and personal and cement our relationship.
This one always seemed to get everyone up. In more ways than one!

Looking back, in those days everyone seemed to have a full head of hair!

Right! We have made it back to her place, ( bed sit ) and I have been invited in for a coffee! While she puts the kettle on she has suggested that I put some music on. She has a state of the art Pioneer record player and as I have a look through her LP's and seven singles I spot this little beauty!
Oh Lordy, I know I am on a promise with this one! That's me sorted for the night!

Melancholy music tonight. Many years ago I watched this group at the Golden Garter in Wythenshawe.
I didn't realise Lillian Lopez had passed away. RIP.

Did you just use the words "original" and "rock band" in the same post?
