Some good stuff there boys, although not all to my taste.
Late 70's early 80's The Jam floated my boat, Mr Angry Weller.
My mate used to bang on about the Black Keys years ago until he finally got me to listen. Great band.

I seldom listen to the twiddly "muso" progressive stuff I listened to when I was a kid these days but my son went to see Dream Theater in Manchester last week and has been raving on about their current tour ever since. From the way he described it, their live show sounds something like Floyd meets the Tubes.

The day after it was in my record collection and over the period Gabriel was with them I managed to see them three or four times live. He had magnificent stage presence which I personally thought put the band in decline visually after his departure. Talk of a reunion would hopefully  provide some return to former glory for the band should he be involved.
Canned Heat were one of the early bands I hung my star on and a Best of CD still provides much listening pleasure.
Neil Young is my Bob Dylan and has been since Buffalo Springfield. His composed songs, The Beatles influenced Mr Soul especially, were in my opinion the quality songs in their sets. His hat tilting on the end of this  Cinnamon Girl video to the Beatles comes as no surprise, he had quite an obsession with them, and he still knows how to work an audience to the full, as I experienced last June.
I suspect I may revisit those links quite regularly.
It does'nt look too good for gabriel as he has stated that his voice has dropped a tone and is too low for his early gen stuff he say's collins can still do it though and he would be the main lead if they all get back and if gabriel can fit it in as he is 5 years into a new album but he'd still like to do a lamb concert if its possible as would the rest. I think Hackett would be the stumbling block as he seems to still have a problem with Gabriel and Collins or come to that Banks who vetoed a lot of his ideas back in the day.As for gabriel i saw him at the o2 recently and he is not anywhere near the showman he was or as lively, those days have gone i'm afraid, Hate to say this but the Barry Gibb concert blew his away.

Being a massive genesis fan of both era's, i dont hold with collins era as lead singer being inferior i actually prefer his singing of gabriels songs even gabriel said he does them better than i did. Gone adrift a bit here SK but genesis were losing money until gabriel left, then Trick of the Tail and wind and wuthering came out and the band made money at last and they were great albums , as for getting more commercial prog had its day and you have to progress or give up, cant blame them for wanting to continue making money. I liked everything they did except the Invisible touch album and its not true that it was collins that turned them more commercial it was Banks and Rutherford mainly.Getting on to what i was going to say was i cant stand Mike and the Mechanics. Here's a wierd one for you when gabriel left and they auditioned for a new lead singer out of the hundreds that applied two that auditioned were Nick lowe and David Cassidy!!!

Fantastic tune from a criminally underrated band:

This latest offering by Giorgios Panayiotou is quite catchy. It was originally released by Terry Trent Darby.
