I'm sat here (sober) watching a Bulgarian fella headbutt watermelons to death on ITV.

What's happened to Saturday night telly?

The producers seem to think this is what the public want just like that bloody X factor that is about to start and it's cheap telly. It's almost (almost Boncey) as bad as Brucie's Price is Right.

You don't even need a brain for this shit, it's just dumb TV.

Thank fuck I don't watch much TV.

Mainly watch DVD's or downloads. So far tonight it's been:

Last of the Summer Wine.
Bilko.
Seinfeld.
Dad's Army.

No one bothers me. I'm considered an out of touch freak.
I should be glued to the X Factor apparently.

However, this is bliss. Next up Father Ted. cheers

We were talking about telly generally and in particular the fact that when there were only 4 channels you could always find something decent to watch, but now there are hundreds of channels and it's almost impossible to find something that's neither shite and you've not seen before.

I watched that it was the guy from masterchef teaching people how to save money on their shopping. It's easy fucking buy less and buy cheaper brands (like Nat with her Pepsi bless her).
Is there a car show teaching you how to spend less on petrol.

I generally solve the issue by recording everything that interests me and watching it when I like which allows me to go out on Saturday nights. Only downside is that last night, by the time I got back and finished watching MOTD, Goals Rush, The Championship etc it was 3 am and I had to carry the missus to bed as she'd crashed out on the sofa. But we did have a great night out with our mates, one of whom has just sold his house in Malaga to Gary Monk apparently.

Exactly same as what they did on You Bet! during the late 1980's and early 1990's when we only had 4 channels!

X-Factor is just the same as Opportunity Knocks (or Bob Says Opportunity Knocks in the 1980's) or New Faces

Take Me Out is basically an updated version of Blind Date

Catchphrase is still Catchphrase but with an added round

Saturday Night Takeaway is same as Noel's House Party, or before then, Game for a Laugh

Ninja Warrior is aa modern version of Gladiators

Thing is TV hasn't really changed over the last 30 or 40 years just been repackaged but it is the same old same old over and over again.
