Wanderers Under-18s picked up their first win of the season as they maintained their unbeaten start to the 2016/17 campaign after beating Leeds United on Saturday.
The young Whites started brightly as they stormed into a convincing lead after creating numerous goals-scoring opportunities.
Scoring three times without reply before the break, efforts from Luca Navarro, Cameron Moore and Dennis Politic saw Bolton take control of proceedings after a dominant first half display.
Both sides continued to create chances following the restart, but the Trotters were unable to extend their lead.
Leeds United ensured it would be a nervy finish for Wanderers at Lostock, pulling a goal back shortly after the interval before netting a second from the penalty spot with 15 minutes remaining.
But Bolton held on to clinch a deserved victory, much to the delight of coach Nicky Spooner.
Speaking to bwfc.co.uk after the final whistle, he said: "We started very bright, attacking at pace and scoring three goals in the first half.
"In the second half we missed lots of good opportunities. But overall it was pleasing with some players asked to play in different positions due to injuries."
