just watched the highlights and we did create quite a few chances but as usual our finishing let us down. A lucky goal for us but that may change our luck and give us a bit of confidence now.

We created a few chances but unlikely we will play teams like Swindon every week. They left massive gaps that even we managed to exploit. Finishing wise,on the plus side we made the keeper make some decent saves.  On the negative side we had 3 one on ones when a bit of composure was required but just shot straight at the keeper.

Defensively we looked quite good and restricted them to a couple of shots.

who coaches the strikers? We need someone who can come in and teach them the art of scoring, someone like Super John would be great

I doubt it. We won't stay anywhere near the top while our strikers keep hitting row Z.
You are correct.  Next week, take the Row Z sign down and put it in the back of the net. It's worth a try!

As poor as the team are playing, a one nil away win buys us time to sort the problems out, namely in midfield and up front. We may well be sat in a false position, but if it keeps us there with a chance of getting out of this league at the earliest opportunity then I'll take it all day long.

I think that eventually one of the strikers has got to hit a bit of form, I don't think we will be far off making the playoffs this year which most would have jumped at. Our defence is solid the addition of Howard and Beever's has seen to that. There are still options to sort the midfield and strikers, lets hope Parky can find the right mix.

We said the same thing last year, and alas, no one hit form... in fact, they couldn't hit anything but the stands!

Indeed, but from what I have seen there are signs of life, last year most of us knew the game was up by Christmas as we where way off the pace needed to stay up. This year is far from a lost cause and with the right tweaks we could be better off than the mid table finish most of us would have been expecting.

Actually many on here were expecting top six... and that's not out of reach.  We still are missing the finisher and it's been upsetting seeing so many points fly away when sitters are missed.  It's even worse when there are no shots on target.

When Ronaldo and Suarez get a one on one with the goalie they wait for him to go down then chip him ....that's what you get for Millions spent ...... most kick it straight at the goalie and hope it goes in. So we have been a bit unlucky regarding that.  As long as we create the chances some will go in eventually.  Three points in the bag and Oldham next ...... if we create like we did against Swindon then  theoretically we should be in decent shape by next Monday.

That's a word that's cropped up a lot since we dropped out of the prem, unfortunately in theory and in practice have been two very different things.

I've just watched them and some of the chances we created were created through some good football, from the highlights it's difficult to see how much was good attacking play and how much bad defensive play.
Some of the passing did look sharp though and more confidence and composure in front of goal and that could have been a big win, not one chance by Swindon if the highlights are accurate.
Interesting that it was the first match Trotter has been dropped for and the midfield seemed to be in complete control from the highlights.

Let's hope Trotter is dropped again on Saturday.
