More than 11,000 votes were cast in the poll, which was held on the Sky Sports website and apps, with the forward winning what proved a two-man race with 4,249 votes.
Sheffield United captain Billy Sharp came second in the poll with 3,885 votes, with the 21-year-old also seeing off competition from Bradford City's Billy Clarke, AFC Wimbledon's Tom Elliott, Coventry's Marvin Sordell and Walsall's Erhun Oztumer to win the award.
Clough caught the eye during the month by scoring five goals, including two in Wanderers' televised derby victory over Bury, and follows in the footsteps of stand-in skipper Jay Spearing who previously won the accolade for his efforts in August and September.
