Probably more likely to happen at an away game I guess, but have you ever sat in the wrong seat and been asked to move?

Happened to me once at Ewood. I managed to get into the completely wrong tier, but because the tier wasn't printed on the ticket I think it was an easy mistake to make. And the turnstile guy didn't spot it so I blame him.

Anyway, I sat down and got settled (blanket, warm ribena) when some bloke came along and said I was sat in his seat. I was convinced I was right so we started having a bit of a row. In the end a steward came over and told me I was in the wrong seat and he ended up escorting me to the right tier like I was some kind of football thug.

You arguing the toss and being convinced you're right about something? And then maintaining it's someone else's fault that you were wrong? I bet this doesn't happen to you very much does it?

In reply to the original question, no, because I can read a ticket.

You may be able to read tickets but you can't read my posts. As I said, the ticket didn't have the tier printed on it. My ticket was exactly the same as the other person's ticket, just a different colour. This is why they have people on turnstiles.

A few years back when England played at Cardiff I bought two tickets off a guy I knew from the pub (ok, stupid I know) for a friendly game. Walked through security and the turnstiles no problem, sat in my seat about an hour before the game without a care in the world. 20 minutes later this woman says I'm sat in her seat, she's very friendly so we compare tickets and they looked identical. A steward comes over and he can't tell the difference, technically we were both in the right seat.

Anyway, he made a call and some suit came over - turns out my ticket was a very good forgery. To be fair to the guy he made arrangements for me to sit elsewhere. He was called Julian so if he's reading - thanks bud! If Barry from the pub is reading, I'm still bitter.

I've never had it done to me personally but when I was at WBA last season their were 2 blokes a few seats down arguing to high heaven that this seat was theres, turns out one of them was pissed as a fart and was about 10 rows back up.

It's happened the other way round to me at the Reebok on a couple of occasions. I've had the same seat since the stadium opened ( East Stand Upper) and when I've arrived about 10 minutes before kick off twice I've found someone sat in my seat. The first time the guy was reasonable-said he'd made a mistake and moved. The second time the guy wouldn't move and told me to piss off and sit somehere else. It took a steward with threats to evict him to get him out of the seat- he clearly knew he was in the wrong seat but wanted to be near some of his mates.. It made for quite an unpleasant day. We lost the game anyway- so perhaps I should have pissed off home!

Last year, me and a mate went watching day 4 of a test at Trent Bridge. We're not regulars to say the least, so we took one steward's advice to sit where we wanted too literally and found ourselves a lovely view in what at the time we were unaware were more expensive seats. In no time we were pounced on by the most obnoxious mother-fucking steward sport has ever known, who told us that what he should do is escort us to the gate for what is apparently an ejectable offence, but instead he told us to wait there for the remainder of the over, then go back to our original seats. He spent that time calling us all the names under the sun, then reminding us that 'one more word...', and he'd take us to the gate. I spent the next week regretting not belting the Notts bastard, so I wrote an official complaint to the club instead to get it off my chest.
