No, I didn't try and savage Cecil with my strap on, I've literally had the decorators in over the weekend and today.
Simple job, take down the old wallpaper in my hall and lounge, fill any cracks or holes, line the walls with paper and then paint.
Surely food and drink to any decorator?
The decorator hasn't got to the painting bit yet, but the walls have been stripped and re-lined with lining paper. And it's shit.
There are more air bubbles in each strip of lining paper than you'd get in a jumbo sized Aero bar. There are drips of paste everywhere, over the plug sockets, light switches and even some of the windows.
It's a shocking job, and I don't think a couple of coats of paints is going to change that.
So what do I do? I can't bring myself to pay him the agreed price (£420 for cash) because surely you expect the job to be of a decent standard. When I employ a "professional" I expect him or her to be able to do a better job than I would.
So do I pay him a percentage of the price or refuse to pay him at all?
What would you do?
