WANDERERS are hot on the heels of Northern Ireland international Niall McGinn and could land him on a free transfer this summer.
The Aberdeen winger has confirmed he will leave Pittodrie after the Scottish Cup Final against Celtic on May 27.
Phil Parkinson has kept tabs on him for the last few months and The Bolton News understands the Whites are looking to make a firm offer once the
Wide man McGinn spent a season in English football with Brentford on loan from Celtic but is said to fancy a crack at the Championship.

The left-sided midfielder has 50 caps for his country and scored against Ukraine in last summer’s European Championships.
Ipswich Town also have an interest in the 29-year-old,, according to reports in the Scottish press. And McGinn is keen to leave Aberdeen after five years and more than 200 appearances on a high note.
“A Scottish Cup winner’s medal would top off a great stint here,” McGinn said of the upcoming final. “To get that and the trophy in my hands would be unbelievable.”

Meanwhile, Wanderers are also expected to formalise an offer to Andy Taylor after his release from Wigan Athletic was confirmed yesterday.

The former Middlesbrough man arrived at Bolton on loan in August with an informal arrangement to convert the deal to a permanent one in the New Year.
That proved impossible with the transfer embargo in place – but Wanderers are expected to tie up the deal now his three-year association with the Latics has ended.
The defender played 40 times in League One, switching to a wing-back role in the final few months of the promotion campaign.
Wigan also confirmed the release of 42-year-old Wanderers legend Jussi Jaaskelainen, who had played just 10 games at the DW Stadium this season.
Wanderers are also g to announce some of their pre-season fixtures by the end of this week.
A home clash with Premier League Stoke City has been confirmed for Saturday, July 29.
A handful of other first team and development squad fixtures are expected to be pencilled in over the next few days.

Niall McGinn has just signed for Gwangju in South Korea. They are in the K league but will probably be flirting with relegation again so it doesn't seem to be any more of a challenge than playing in the Championship. Presumably he's been offered more money.
