Wanderers suffered defeat away at Hull City in their final outing before the international break on Friday evening.

First half goals from Adama Diomande, Kamil Grosicki and Jarrod Bowen, alongside a late effort from the latter, ensured that the Tigers ran out comfortable winners on the night at the KCOM Stadium.

And speaking after the final whistle, manager Phil Parkinson covered the following points...

On the game as a whole...

We were second best tonight and we've got to accept that. We just couldn't cope with their pace or power on the break.

We got punished for giving the ball away too cheaply and they were absolutely clinical when they got into that final third.

It's a night where we've all got to look closely at ourselves and find a way as a team to stay in games.

We've conceded goals inside the first half in a number of our games now and we're just not giving ourselves a chance.

We've got to strip it right back and go back to the basics. When you give a team like Hull a lift like we did tonight, you make life difficult for yourself and we've done that on two other occasions already this season.

However, it didn't help when Meyler launched himself at Jem Karacan - for me, it was a straight red in this current climate.

It was a very dangerous challenge and I'll look forward to hearing from the referee when he's had a chance to take a look at it.

They're the type of challenges that break players' legs, and with that in mind he should have been sent off.

While Jem's hobbling around from that challenge meanwhile, Hull go and score their first goal.

On Jem's injury...

There's not much we can say at the moment. We'll properly assess him when we get back into the dressing room and then again back to Bolton, but it didn't look good at half time.

And on the superb backing of the Bolton fans and the upcoming international break...

I thought our fans were brilliant on a very tough night for us. They were the only people to come away from this match with credit.

They didn't turn on the lads - they stuck right with them right to the last whistle and I thank them for that, I really do.

We've got a couple of weeks now though to look closely at ourselves as a group of staff and players and aim to find a way to turn our fortunes around.

With the international break now here, we can hopefully get a couple of players who have been on the sidelines back in the mix and work hard on the training ground to bounce back from this as soon as possible.

Blah, blah, blah.

We don't need words Parky, we need action. Starting with your resignation.
