Peter O'Rourke (who states that he's a sports journalist - he does have 82,000 followers so it's probably true) has tweeted this about 30 minutes ago -
Cardiff have agreed a deal with Bolton for striker Gary Madine.
If true then I guess its down to personal terms and if Madine wants to go.

He's been offered £15k a week - more than double his current pay. If a deal has been agreed then it's when, not if.

So...
if we don't get the Dutch guy it'll be Wilbraham leading the line?
Exciting!

For what it is worth - the bloke who tweeted a done deal (Pete O'Rourke) has just done another tweet and linked it to this article -
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Now the article is from HITC which without doubt is the greatest publisher of fake transfer stories out there in my opinion - for instance it claims in the link that the deal is worth up to £6 million to us!
IF and I do mean IF - the only source to Madine's transfer is traced back to the HITC article then I would say the story is just hearsay.
That's not to say it won't happen but both clubs, Nixon, Iles and Cardiff's local paper haven't reported this as a done deal - so I simply don't believe HITC are more in the know than all of them.

They're one of those news aggregator sites, somall it takes is one person to write about it and they'll pick it up. I'd take it with one of that Leeds Wanderers lad's pinches of salt

£2.5 million rising to £6 million if Cardiff win the Champions League isn't enough money to accept relegation for.
Getting relegated, accepting the £3.5 million loss in TV revenue, still not having a pot to piss in,praying Cardiff get promoted more than we stay up and having a pool of crap strikers isn't good business.

Bolton's Gary Madine close to completing Cardiff City switch
GARY Madine is on his way to Cardiff City to complete a deal which could be worth £6million, The Bolton News understands.
Wanderers’ top scorer has been offered a lucrative move to South Wales and will take a medical this afternoon before completing the formalities, making him the third most expensive sale in the club’s history.
Madine has hit 10 goals for Phil Parkinson’s side in the Championship this season, and also finished joint top scorer in League One last term.
Cardiff had been unsuccessful with four previous bids for the 27-year-old target man, with Wanderers holding firm on their reported £6m valuation.
But this morning it appears Neil Warnock’s side finally hit the magic number, paving the way for Madine to make his move on deadline day.
Parkinson now faces a frantic search to find a replacement and has been strongly linked with Feyenoord’s 6ft 5ins Dutch striker Michiel Kramer.
Wanderers’ previous record sales were Nicolas Anelka (£15m) and Gary Cahill (£7m), both to Chelsea, in 2008 and 2012 respectively.

If it really is £6m that's a great deal for Bolton.

Another story suggests Kramer is "taking some convincing" to join BWFC.

I said from the moment it was announced Cardiff were after him, Madine would go and i was right for a change. I can't believe it will be £6million upfront, i bet we only get a third of that and the rest will be add-ons.
If we don't get a replacement today then start planning for League one again.

If Cardiff get promoted- can you imagine Madine against Premier league central defenders. He'd be an embarasment.
