I guess there are question marks about the couple in question but today, the current leader of UKIP has dumped his woman (who is about half his age and who he dumped his wife for just a few weeks back) who had been sending racist tweets!

A good pair together eh!

Whatever credibility he had he's thrown it away by not standing by his woman - he should have stood up for her and said something like 'she made a mistake, we all make mistakes, and she's sorry for it but there is good in her heart and I love her still and want to help her get over this and so it wouldn't be right for me to continue in my position with UKIP at this time'.

They could then have got on with their lives together - or more probably split up - without the glare of the world right on them as now.

Nobody is going to support a man who sacrifices his woman to try to save his career - if he can do that to someone he loves how could anyone take his political promises seriously anyway?

If he's lied and still carry's on seeing her out of the spotlight, then someone will see them together sooner or later and again his honesty and integrity would be questioned.

Why she 'fell' for someone old enough to be her father is beyond my understanding of women but if it was because she saw him as some sort of alpha-male, well she knows a whole lot better now.

I guess the very fact she tweeted such shite shows her not to be very bright in the first place.

It was all a car crash waiting to happen I guess but even when it did - he still couldn't do the right thing could he!

Sluffy why should he stand by her when she's an out and out racist? You said she's not very bright but that doesn't excuse such blatant racism does it?

He has said that he will support her and her family. All it means is that they will wait for the dust to settle, and carry on discretely. I think his actions say as much about him as they do about her.
What it means to most people is that UKIP, as a party, has finally come to the end of the road, and as Bolton said, if they have another leader election, the party will disappear altogether.

They were always a single issue party and have apparently accomplished that one trick so their half-witted supporters can go back to supporting whatever party they previously supported - 60% of them Tories judging by this interesting article from YouGov: https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=5&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwigzdmRpdzYAhVjDcAKHcFBDY8QFghAMAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fyougov.co.uk%2Fnews%2F2013%2F03%2F05%2Fanalysis-ukip-voters%2F&usg=AOvVaw0WU_M8FWjXV6ZKkBOGP8UJ

Nearly all the UKIP top brass are ex Tory, not only ex Tory but failed ex Tories, This is a party feared of the future that wants to return to ideals that no longer exist Ie the British empire. A one trick pony that is now spent. They had Farage and nothing else.

The biggest fear was that a fair proportion of people actually voted for this rabble to run the country. How ex socialists can swing to an alternative Tory party is something i struggle to understand.

However the thread was not about the UKIP Party ? So no i worked to live, my family, would always come before any career move. Lots live to work bit it's not for me.

Absolutely agree wessy. I actually turned down a couple of attractive career moves because my family was more important to me.

For what it is worth I don't believe anyone is born a racist.

When I took my little girl to play group many years ago, you could see all the kids there playing with each other irrespective of what colour (or religion) they were and simply being happy with each other.

It's only when they get a bit bigger that they see how the older ones around them (parents, child minders, even teachers) behave and act accordingly. Their behaviour is often reinforced by praise and reward - it is learnt rather than inherent within the child.

As for standing by her - why not if you love her?

Isn't it better to help some one you love than rather just walk away from them?

Help her to see how wrong racism is.

Love conquers everything they say.

Surely better than publically dumping the woman you love to try and save your job - which to me would show no loyalty or integrity in the blokes character - and presumably of those who back him continuing his job.

They've been a couple for literally a few weeks, not sure where you get the love from? More likely he's having a mid life crisis and fancied a younger woman so it's lust not love in my eyes.
And for what it's worth i couldn't be in a relationship with someone with those kind of views.

As for his Political career, he doesn't have one! UKIP are finished, even Farage distances himself from them now.

It takes years to really know someone and the process of learning about them is delayed by the wide-eyed attraction we feel when we first meet someone. Maybe he is justifying his actions by arguing that he'd only just found out what a dick she really is?

They both have brains the size of a gold fish as she's some tart after his money and that's why she's with him.

Why else would any woman look at a bloke of his age & looks and fancy them?

He's basically paying for a prozzie.

He dumped his wife for a woman half his age just a few weeks back - which was in the public domain - so he obviously cared enough about her to do that.

If he's taken that big a step then all the more reason to stand by her now, rather than dump her to save himself.

Ignoring for now what his politics are - would you feel that he has the honesty and integrity to earn your trust and belief that he would do the right thing if he ever got into power - after putting himself first in his own private life?

I don't.

As for the woman/partner in your life - is she/him perfect - mine certainly isn't!

There has to be a certain amount of shared interest between the two of you obviously and I might be doing the UKIP bloke Mr Bolton a disservice but I don't think the views of his young lover on racism would have come as a major shock to him - do you?

If he wants to have any chance of having a political career and a happy life with this woman I would have thought the obvious thing to do was to take himself out of the public spot light by resigning, then sorting things out with his women (both of them) one way or another, then wait his opportunity to further his political ambitions again when the next opportunity arrived in the future.

As for me I gave up my career to stay close to my daughter when she was little and her mother had done the dirty on me.

I've been the best father I could be for her under the circumstances I found myself in and seen her grow up from being a toddler to a grown woman with a university education.

I'm not looking for praise from anyone, I did it because I love her and it was everything I could do to be there for her the best I could.

I guess love is when you realise that someone is more important to you, than you yourself!

It is for me anyway.

I agree with what you're saying about shared interests, i almost put something similar myself but couldn't word it properly (i don't wan't a slander case) and no i wouldn't trust any member of UKIP as far as i could throw them.

No- I wouldn't give up the missus for a career move. But I would hope that she's got enough sense and intelligence not to put me in the position of having to make that choice.
