Despite Barnsley's terrible form they'd given him a new contract just last week, and this week he walks out. That's loyalty.

But why would Leeds want the manager of a team near the foot of the Championship?

Crazy world. Mickey Adams was available.

He was born in Barnsley, supported them as a season ticket holder and even went on to play for them too!

Apparently though Leeds tripled his wages.

So much for loyalty in football I guess.

We'd all make the same choice given the prospect of earning three times our pay

No not all of us.

I've turned down money because family was more important to me.

But each to their own.

He hates Leeds, so it seems a real funny move. Maybe he is off to just fuck them over, now that would be great.

Seriously though, I can't see him lasting long. Leeds fans expected more, and this appointment hasn't gone down too well with the majority I've spoken to. Personally, I don't think it's to poor managers that is their problem. It's the fact they feel the need for a director of football, while they may work in foreign leagues, they don't seem to work well in the English ones.

Leeds think they're a big club. They're not.

Personally think it's a managers job to do the recruiting. They know what type of player they need and want. TC knew they needed a CB's but Orta never got one in.

Big clubs don't spend 14 years outside the top division, there's no question that they aren't one of the big clubs.

Man city spent quite a while outside the top division are they not a big club?

Leeds in the seventies were one of the biggest clubs in England and the best team i ever saw live.

Aye Leeds are a big big club. You only have to look at their recent record to realise that they are one of the biggest clubs in the UK. Oh, look! There's a cuckoo!

If we got bought by sheikhs and bought the title and every best player in the world would we be?

Its cyclical. We will be a big club again, but I doubt I'll be alive when it happens. Only those with a large fan base have been able to stay at, or near, the top. the rest of us have to rely on form, finance, and dedicated fans. As we've seen, when not all three are in sync, we suffer.

But then got relegated in 1981/82 and were not promoted until the 1990s.

This is not what big clubs do, they get promoted within a few seasons at the most.

The only massive clubs relegated in living memory were Man Utd and Tottenham who both spent one season out

All 'if's' and 'but's' I know but if we could win on Tuesday we would go in front of Reading.

They are now only two points above us and we have the Cardiff game in hand of them.

They are on a very bad run and I think we can finish above them by the end of the season.

Fingers crossed anyway.

I'd say we are one of the inform teams out of the bottom lot. I reckon we will be safe.

Will one of you clever people with time on their hands do a league table for the last 10 games( or since January 1st) and that will show us who the in form teams are and who is sliding down the slippery slope to league 1. I bet we are in the top half of the table. I'd do it but I've got too much work to do today and tomorrow.
