Signing seems imminent so hence this thread.

Watch what Parkinson says on this video -

He says the Anderson's are working on Kirchoff deal today and deal has to be a match/performance related contract.

This signing seems in complete contrast to Ken's recent statement:

Ken wrote:We don’t want to make the mistake – which we did do in League One last year – where we brought in a couple of free agents who didn’t feature, or very rarely featured, and I wouldn’t want to make that mistake again.

This guy hasn't played in months.

Henry is suspended, Vela injured, Pratley returning from injury and I guess no one fancies Karacan and Derik to be up to holding midfield for the next few games?

I guess 60 or so minutes of a not fully fit Kirchoff is about our best option right now?

Apparently he is very good but very injury prone.

Seems our type then!

Tweet from Iles stand in (you'd think he'd be around for undoubtedly our biggest game of the season at home to Sunderland - but no he booked this week off - crazy!).

PP says finalising deal to bring kirchoff in should, all being well, be done in next day or so: "he's experienced and played at the top level, tall and can pick a pass. We're sitting down and talking to him today. There's an element of risk in any deal so...

...as a group we'll make a judgement call and look to do what's right for the football club"

Wanderers sign Jan Kirchhoff

Bolton Wanderers are pleased to confirm the signing of Jan Kirchhoff on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old was last on the books of Sunderland, departing the club at the end of last season having made 23 appearances for the Black Cats during his 18 months at the Stadium of Light.
Comfortable playing at both centre-back and centre-midfield, the former Germany Under-21s international started his senior career with 1. FSV Mainz 05 and made his professional debut in the 2008/09 season as they won promotion to the Bundesliga.
Joining German giants Bayern Munich on a free transfer ahead of the 2013/14 season, Kirchhoff made 11 appearances during his first year at the Allianz Arena as he helped Bayern win the Bundesliga, the FIFA Club World Cup and the DFB-Pokal.
After signing for FC Schalke 04 on an 18-month loan deal in December 2013, he returned to Bayern before moving to Sunderland for an undisclosed fee in January 2016.
Helping the Black Cats avoid relegation in his first half-season with the club, Kirchhoff’s performances also saw him voted PFA Fans' Player of the Month for April 2016.
And having impressed while on trial at Macron Stadium, Kirchhoff has joined the Whites until the end of the season.
Speaking to bwfc.co.uk after completing the move, Kirchhoff said: “I’m really pleased to be here and happy to be back in football.
“I’m looking forward to the rest of the season and to play for this great team.”
Trotters manager Phil Parkinson added: “Jan is a player of excellent pedigree and will be an excellent addition to the squad as we head towards the final months of the campaign.”

Sounds like a real class act if he can remain fit, well worth the gamble.

You do realise that players out of the team still train the same as every other player?

This Jan bloke last played football when Bonce was a trainee.

If he's playing for free, yes.

If he's being paid, it's madness.

Light years ahead of almost everyone in our squad in his prime. Fingers crossed he’s still got enough in the tank and can contribute soon. We need him.

We still need a striker (big lump up top covered in Velcro) in place of Wilbraham.

Pleased with the signing, if he can stay fit we've got a decent player here.
