Article from Alan Nixon -

Sheffield Wednesday ready to cut their losses and loan out £10million Jordan Rhodes this summer

(Mis-firing striker has only scored four goals in 28 games and the Owls want to get his big wages off their payroll)

The Owls could let striker Rhodes, 28, go on loan to get his big wages off their payroll.

They may even have to settle for just a slice of his current salary being paid.
Rhodes was the club’s record signing in a £10million deal from Middlesbrough.

But two successive bosses have failed to get the best out of him and his Hillsborough record is only four goals in 28 games;
Ipswich Town tried to take Rhodes on loan in the last window and may be back.

Bolton Wanderers would be bidders if they stay in the Championship.
Former Huddersfield Town man Rhodes joined the Owls from Middlesbrough on an initial loan deal in February 2017 before making his move to Hillsborough permanent.

Many felt the deal was a bit desperate at the time, Wednesday having already boasted a range of forward options such as Gary Hooper, Fernando Forestieri, Steven Fletcher, Atdhe Nuhiu and Lucas Joao.
Now a poll taken on social networking site Twitter shows that 80 per cent of the Wednesday fans who voted believe the club should look to sell him.

Can't see it myself but I guess there must be a reason why out of all the clubs he could have named - he mentioned us?

I think the phrase "big wages" says it all.

I'd take him, however this is probably what Donald Trump would call 'Fake News'.

I bet you never even read the next line, did you?

I can't see it happening myself but if anyone could get his career back on track - like he did for Madine - I would imagine Parkinson could - and if the loan fee is low enough, then he may well (at just 28 years old) be worth that punt.

If we could get Wednesday to pay some or most of his wages then yes he would be a great signing i reckon. A proven goalscorer at this level and like ALF needs a run of games to really get going.

Lee Anderson has just said there is no truth in it.

No chance and I’m glad of that. He’s shown he can’t play up front on his own many times now, Parky isn’t going to start playing 2 up top to accommodate him. And that’s before we even consider the fact he’s out of our budget.

That's another bet you lost. At least you're consistent.

Just what we need, another striker who can't strike.

I'd rather sign Leroy Lita.

So you read a line that said that his club would settle for "just a slice of his current salary being paid", and you then went on to post that we couldn't afford him because of his "big wages"?

Yeah, right.

Totally believable.

It says they ‘may have to’ not that they will.

Anyone know what he’s on at Wednesday?

Ngog will be available for free in the summer.

(Still only 28 years old).

Some top manager paid £4 million for him once a few years back.

Nobody said otherwise did they?

I'm pleased at least you did the courtesy of reading the article before posting.

It's a non story anyway as Lee Anderson as already tweeted there is no truth in Nixon's story (regarding Bolton).
