Wanderers have been urged to go for broke in Saturday’s home clash with Wolves - by a man who knows them better than most.
Karl Henry played more than 250 games for the Molineux men and has been impressed by their romp to Premier League promotion.
But the tough-tacking midfielder insists the champions-elect are not flawless and feels the pressure is on them to claim the point they need to wrap up the title.
“We have absolutely nothing to lose and they are certainly not unbeatable,” he said. “With Wolves having been so rampant and impressive all season long people will be expecting them to get the result, but that works in our favour. We can play with freedom and express ourselves.
“We have been in this position so many times and come out on the right side of the result against teams like Aston Villa, Cardiff City and Bristol City.
“We know we are capable of beating anybody on our day and Saturday is no different. We have belief in ourselves and if we were able to get a point, or all three, it would be a huge boost for us.”
Wolves secured promotion last weekend with a win against Birmingham City and a trio of their players - Ruben Neves, John Ruddy and Willy Boly - have since been voted into the PFA’s Championship team of the year.
Their recruitment this season came at some considerable cost and continues to attract accusing looks from around the division for their association with agent, Jorge Mendes.
But Henry has a begrudging respect for the team assembled by Nuno Santo, which has led from the front all season.
“Prior to us playing Wolves at Molineux back in November there was a lot of hype around the players they’d brought in,” he said.
“I’ve been around a long time now and I have seen clubs with a lot of money waste it. You see clubs spending like it is going out of fashion in a bid to win promotion and they don’t manage it. But fair play to Wolves they have brought in some real quality players.”
