Forward's season was cut short in March with fractured skull, but ex-Rangers man is fully fit and SunSport has been told he is keen to return to Lancashire

Trotters boss Phil Parkinson is looking to beef up his attack following the January departure of Gary Madine to promoted Cardiff City.

Experienced striker Clayton Donaldson has moved to Bolton on a 12-month deal and Parkinson wants another hitman to add to his ranks.
Goals were hard to come by last term for the Lancashire side who escaped the drop on the final day of the season beating Nottingham Forest at the Macron stadium.

Garner,30, moved to Portman Road last year after a season in Scotland with Rangers.
However, his season was cut short when he suffered a minor fractured skull against Sheffield United in March.

Note - Although this article is in the Sun it is not from Nixon. Also when asked on twitter by someone about the article Nixon said he knew nothing about it.

Make of that what you will.
