Further costs related to Ken Anderson, the club owner who was previously barred from being a company director in the UK for eight years.

As someone who used to work in the insolvency industry, you would have to irritate the authorities a huge amount just to get a telling off, so his behaviour in achieving an eight-year ban (which expired a few years ago) must have been spectacular in terms of poor governance and transparency. David Conn, The Guardian’s superb rottweiler like investigative journalist, uncovered some of Anderson’s past that does not paint him in a particularly good light.

Bolton’s ‘rogue chairman’ Ken Anderson puts EFL ownership rules under scrutiny | Football | The Guardian

Anderson was paid £525,000 for his services via Inner Circle Investments Limited, a company he set up in 2015 with an investment of £1 of shares.

By having such an arrangement, it allows him to legitimately say that he is not being paid a salary by Wanderers.

Inner Circle Investments Ltd appears to be little more than an investments vehicle, as the only asset it owns is a 95% share in Burnden Leisure.

In addition, £125,000 was paid to another member of the Anderson family, which appears to Ken’s son Lee Anderson, via something called the Athos Group. A trawl of Company’s House reveals that Athos Group is a services company that seems to have no executive called Lee Anderson. It would therefore appear that Lee was paid for consultancy or other work, such as modelling BWFC leisurewear.
Seemingly a fair assessment of the Anderson years.  What can we deduce from this?  Clever verbiage and sly accounting (not illegal) have given the Anderson's a generous payday for their guardianship of the club.  Apparently, he doth protest too much... saying he paid the players out of his pocket when in fact, it was the PFA who in fact did.  The club is still not breaking even... but give credit to Anderson for reducing costs... but at what cost to our survival in the Championship?  Madine has not been replaced by anyone with substance, and LeFondre's exit has cost us a finisher.  Looking at the games played, we have not scored in 16 matches... a direct result of the loss of Madine and ALF. Deano's affection for 24% interest rates should have landed him in the slammer, rather than getting a payday from the Anderson's in the buy-out.  Even friendly loans are costing the club 10%... a far cry from what one could get in a bank.  Hence, interest payments are bankrupting the club.  Without ED, we would have gone into administration (and with good reason).  Without further investment, and with the Anderson's not dipping into their own pocket (s), there is no chance for survival.  Of course, Anderson is not stupid.  If he does shell out for a striker, it might be the difference of surviving in the championship once again.  Parky needs to find a starting eleven... not reach into the grab bag every week or throw darts at the wall.  Let's hope Anderson finds his pocket with his hand and pulls out some cash to buy a player or two to keep us up.  The clubs above us are starting to pull away... but it's not too late if we can get a brace or two.  The dismal scoring record has to change... and Anderson's only hope of selling on is to spend now.

You really are totally childish the way you act on here.

If you want to add anything to this forum, please go ahead, you can be a really good poster with decent knowledge about the club at times and can be very funny when you have a mind to.  You would undoubtable be a popular poster with most on here if you wanted to be but if the only reason you bother to post here is to troll me then please don't bother yourself anymore thank you.

If you don't like me or what I post, then simply stay away, its not difficult.  Go and find somewhere else more to your liking.

At least everyone else who has a little pop at me, posts elsewhere on Nuts about other stuff.

You just seem to be here for just the one reason.

Anyway.

Fwiw this is old news and I give my views on it way back on the 11th January (post 792) on this very thread -

I’d like to welcome Callum Connolly who joined the club on loan from Everton until the end of the season.
Callum is a player whom the manager has tracked for quite a while and tried to sign last summer, and has shown a real desire to play for Bolton Wanderers for the remainder of the campaign.
His energy, enthusiasm and versatility will be tremendous assets to the squad as we embark on a crucial period of games.
Overall, it was somewhat of a frustrating deadline day for all concerned at club as we had put in proposals at clubs for several players. Although those clubs had sanctioned the moves, the players concerned opted to stay at their clubs and fight for their places, which is completely understandable. They had also turned down interest from other Championship clubs.
It was well documented that we were also interested in Sheffield United striker Ched Evans. Indeed, we were extremely close in bringing Ched to the University of Bolton Stadium for the rest of the season and he wanted to play for us. However, Fleetwood Town, where he was currently on loan, weren’t keen on losing his services and we were unable to get the deal over the line, which was disappointing to say the least.
Although we made it patently clear that none of our players were available for transfer, we received a number of offers which were flatly refused.
I noted a rumour which suggested that Mark Little was a player we were looking to move on. I can categorically state that we had not received an offer for Mark and nor did we want him to leave.
Whilst we tried to make further additions to the squad throughout January it wasn’t for the lack of trying and the manager, like myself, is confident that the players we have in the squad are capable of maintaining our status in the Sky Bet Championship.
It’s a cliché, I know, but all games in this league are tough and apart from one or two exceptions we have not been outclassed. I truly believe that if are able to get a run going – and it will come – then we can start to look up at the table.
Sheffield United on Saturday is probably as tough as it gets at the moment as they are flying and bang on form, and I guess a lot of people are expecting it to be a routine home win. But having defeated them at Bramall Lane last season, I know the players will be doing their best to get something from the game.
Our next home match will see Preston North End make the short journey for a Lancashire derby at the University of Bolton Stadium on Saturday 9 February and it’s imperative that everybody in the ground is fully behind the manager and players. If we can get something from both of these games then I am confident that they will provide the platform for us to get a positive sequence of results.
I thought you might like to know that the police bill for our last two home games, against West Brom and Reading, cost in the region of £20,000. Both these games were not originally designated as fixtures that required a police presence, but with the protests that took place, it was deemed necessary for the police to be on site to prevent possible disorder. While I completely agree that everybody has a right to express their opinions, I hope those people involved realise that the £20,000 we had to spend could and should have been put to much better use at the club.
It was noted that only a very small minority chose to protest at the Reading game and from what I can gather the vast majority of our fans are not in favour of this course of action.
Let’s all now focus on the players and matters on the pitch so that we can work together and strive to get the results that will see us play in this division next season.
Best wishes,
Ken

He just can't help himself can he? Just fuck off Kenocchio, i'm hoping the us he talks about doesn't actually include him for too much longer.

He mentions the small number of protesters for the Reading game but completely bypassed the 3000-4000 for the WBA game.

So in short Sheff Utd said no, and preferred him to stay at Fleetwood where he is at least guaranteed to be paid.

No one here would blame him for asking for his money upfront.  Ken dodged doidge so everyone has been put on notice of his shenanigans.

Incompetence will see us relegated. If our season was allowed to hinge on Ched Bundy's signature then someone else should be in charge.

Ched Bundy. First time someone on this site other than Sluffy has made me laugh.

I'm so glad we haven't signed him. Last scored in the Champo in 2011. Shithouse.
