I’d like to welcome Callum Connolly who joined the club on loan from Everton until the end of the season.
Callum is a player whom the manager has tracked for quite a while and tried to sign last summer, and has shown a real desire to play for Bolton Wanderers for the remainder of the campaign.
His energy, enthusiasm and versatility will be tremendous assets to the squad as we embark on a crucial period of games.
Overall, it was somewhat of a frustrating deadline day for all concerned at club as we had put in proposals at clubs for several players. Although those clubs had sanctioned the moves, the players concerned opted to stay at their clubs and fight for their places, which is completely understandable. They had also turned down interest from other Championship clubs.
It was well documented that we were also interested in Sheffield United striker Ched Evans. Indeed, we were extremely close in bringing Ched to the University of Bolton Stadium for the rest of the season and he wanted to play for us. However, Fleetwood Town, where he was currently on loan, weren’t keen on losing his services and we were unable to get the deal over the line, which was disappointing to say the least.
Although we made it patently clear that none of our players were available for transfer, we received a number of offers which were flatly refused.
I noted a rumour which suggested that Mark Little was a player we were looking to move on. I can categorically state that we had not received an offer for Mark and nor did we want him to leave.
Whilst we tried to make further additions to the squad throughout January it wasn’t for the lack of trying and the manager, like myself, is confident that the players we have in the squad are capable of maintaining our status in the Sky Bet Championship.
It’s a cliché, I know, but all games in this league are tough and apart from one or two exceptions we have not been outclassed. I truly believe that if are able to get a run going – and it will come – then we can start to look up at the table.
Sheffield United on Saturday is probably as tough as it gets at the moment as they are flying and bang on form, and I guess a lot of people are expecting it to be a routine home win. But having defeated them at Bramall Lane last season, I know the players will be doing their best to get something from the game.
Our next home match will see Preston North End make the short journey for a Lancashire derby at the University of Bolton Stadium on Saturday 9 February and it’s imperative that everybody in the ground is fully behind the manager and players. If we can get something from both of these games then I am confident that they will provide the platform for us to get a positive sequence of results.
I thought you might like to know that the police bill for our last two home games, against West Brom and Reading, cost in the region of £20,000. Both these games were not originally designated as fixtures that required a police presence, but with the protests that took place, it was deemed necessary for the police to be on site to prevent possible disorder. While I completely agree that everybody has a right to express their opinions, I hope those people involved realise that the £20,000 we had to spend could and should have been put to much better use at the club.
It was noted that only a very small minority chose to protest at the Reading game and from what I can gather the vast majority of our fans are not in favour of this course of action.
Let’s all now focus on the players and matters on the pitch so that we can work together and strive to get the results that will see us play in this division next season.
Best wishes,
Ken

He just can't help himself can he? Just fuck off Kenocchio, i'm hoping the us he talks about doesn't actually include him for too much longer.

He mentions the small number of protesters for the Reading game but completely bypassed the 3000-4000 for the WBA game.

So in short Sheff Utd said no, and preferred him to stay at Fleetwood where he is at least guaranteed to be paid.

What a fucking idiot - does he think that slinging yet more mud via his shit blogs is going to distract from the fact that we haven't won a meaningful game in forever and seem to be going head-first into League One?

What a wanker.

No one here would blame him for asking for his money upfront.  Ken dodged doidge so everyone has been put on notice of his shenanigans.

Incompetence will see us relegated. If our season was allowed to hinge on Ched Bundy's signature then someone else should be in charge.

Ched Bundy. First time someone on this site other than Sluffy has made me laugh.

I'm so glad we haven't signed him. Last scored in the Champo in 2011. Shithouse.

The issue with Evans was not Sheff U though was it? They submitted their request to Fleetwood to terminate their loan deal so they could send him out to us in the last 24 hours of the window and under the terms of that deal Fleetwood had the right to refuse to terminate on such short notice - fair enough as it would have left them no time to source a replacement.
This suggests that BWFC didn't make the enquiry about Evans until the last minute which implies he was by no means first choice and Anderson's tardiness in making the move for Evans was the reason he didn't come. Had the request been made 24 hours earlier Fleetwood would have had no say in the matter as I understand it.

A completely predictable outcome and clearly more lies being fed to the fans. Parkinson must be on the promise of a big bonus for putting up with this shit month after month. I can't believe he's sticking around to add a relegation to his Bolton tenure.

TBF to Parky, he's put up with a lot of crap and showed incredible loyalty despite his ambitions having been cut off at the knees by the owner which must surely enhance his cv if anything.

Full statement -

I have seen the comments both in the media and on social media which allude to the fact that I am about to sell my stake in the club to a UK consortium.
While I’d rather not comment on media speculation of this nature I would suggest that you ignore these rumours and treat them as pure media speculation.
Of course it is no secret that I am looking for investment but I receive many enquiries virtually every week, a great deal of which often come from time wasters and dreamers who are unable to offer any proof of funding and disappear as quickly as they arrive. In my experience, when people leak details of a deal they rarely occur which is probably because they weren’t in a position to do a deal in the first place.

For the record, I didn’t have any meetings in London last week in connection with a sale of the club. My focus, along with the management and recruitment team, was solely on recruitment and fending off unwanted bids for our players. Despite media comments of fire sales, players demanding transfers and unrest amongst the players, not one player left in the January transfer window.
I can confirm, however, that detailed discussions are taking place with an interested party but as I am sure that you will appreciate I am unable to give you details at this stage. When there is something to say you the supporters will be the first to know through the usual club channels.
In spite of the disappointing result at Sheffield United on Saturday, I thought we played well especially in the first half and stuck to the game plan where we enjoyed a fair share of the game and utilised our possession well.

It was a testament to our players that there was an air of frustration amongst the home support going into the half time break.

Luck deserted us once again in front of goal but I’m a firm believer that you make your own luck. If we keep ourselves in this mindset then we won’t be too far off in getting the goals we need to turn into points.

I know the players and staff will also be disappointed with the result but they will dust themselves down and get back onto the training ground to prepare themselves ahead of our derby game against Preston North End at the University of Bolton Stadium this coming Saturday.

They have a collective determination to put things right and their desire and attitude cannot be faulted.
Also, the recruitment team are still actively looking for a striker and of course we shall update you on any progress that happens.
It is important that our supporters’ sole focus is to get behind the players throughout the match and show them your support in numbers. Be our twelfth man not just in this game but all the matches we have left to play.
Tickets are on sale and can be purchased by clicking here. Alternatively, why not try some of our excellent hospitality. Give our sales team a call on 01204 673761 or email [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] for more information.
We are only three points away from safety and with 16 games remaining we still have everything to play for. Everyone said we would be relegated last season and we proved them wrong and that experience l am sure will stand us in good stead for these crucial games ahead.
With that in mind, the club has launched a Super 7 season ticket which will enable supporters to watch the final seven home games of the campaign from as little as £16.43 per match for adults and £5.71 per match for under 18s. I would strongly recommend that you take advantage of this great offer which starts with our home game against Norwich City on Saturday 16 February. The Super 7 season ticket will be available to buy online in person at Bolton Central or by calling 0844 871 2932 (selecting option 2 then option 1).
With your continuous and constant backing and support of the players I am hopeful that we will retain our Championship status come May.

Best wishes,

Ken

Absolute bollocks, a testament to our players that fans were frustrated? I think you'll find they were pissed off with Parkinson's lack of a gameplan, and how many of these tickets is the tool expecting to flog on the back of said ineptness?
this slimeball has more neck than a fucking giraffe.

During my three years at the club, I have always endeavoured to do my best and to be open and transparent with you the supporters and, as I have said on several occasions, when there is something to say you will be the first to know.
Accordingly, I will try and separate fact from fiction in respect of some of the recent posts on social media platforms and in the media.
First and foremost, l will never disclose the identity of any of the prospective buyers as Non Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) usually prevent this and rightly so.
As far as l am aware, the comments about a Turkish buyer are pure fiction and to the best of my knowledge are yet more speculation that seems to have been generated by the media.
There have also been various other postings about a North West consortium backed by Russian money. Again, this is pure fiction.
Unfortunately, a number of people like to portray that they know more than they actually do and speculate on what’s happening and generally speaking, it bears no relation to the truth and reality of what is really happening.
The facts are that there is a consortium with which heads of terms were agreed and discussions are ongoing.
There has, over the last week or so, been further interest from several other consortiums who have all signed NDAs and discussions are also ongoing with them.
Everything else that has been said or written can be ignored as it is total fiction.
Best wishes,
Ken

Wrong Martin, there's a diamond in there (maybe a rough diamond though at the moment).

It's basically a non-binding agreement on the main elements of a deal. Usually it means both parties are at the table with a common agreed understanding on the main commercial points. It then needs more detail, due diligence and binding formal contracts to go anywhere.

So there is at least something solid happening apparently.
