Why?

If we left the clocks as they are there would be fewer traffic accidents and deaths and less electricity used. Only a few Scottish farmers would be inconvenienced and Jacob Rees-Mogg who filibustered a proposal out of parliament in 2012.

Interestingly the EU has recommended that the practice stop, so leaving the EU will probably stop it happening thanks to people like Rees-Mogg.

About 50 years ago they experimented for a year of not changing the clocks - after all it was 50 years before that (during WWI) that the changes in the clocks were first introduced and most people had I guess no experience of what things were like before putting the cocks forwards and backwards every six months or so.

Well it was found not to be too popular a move by most people - it felt that you were setting off to work in the middle of the night - and the biggest issue that was raised was the safety of children going to school more or less in the dark.

The experiment lasted for three years and there was no clamour at the time for it to become a permanent thing after peoples experience of it.

I should think if we did stop altering the clocks, the same complaints/issues of travelling safely to school/work in the dark would again become an issue.

As probably one of the few on here who has experienced life without the clocks going forward and back, I would certainly prefer if we carried on springing forward and falling back as we do now.

Not sure I could wait 6 months before putting my cock forwards and backwards to be honest.

I'd prefer it if they didn't change just to avoid having to listen to this shit day after day

'Er... when do the clocks go back? I mean forward. Are they going back or forward this time? I can never remember. What day do they... er...?'
