Next up is an away trip to Accrington who sit just two points above the relegation zone 14 points ahead of us having played 3 games more - at the time of writing. I like Accrington never having thought of them as competition for us but how things have changed. Opportunity to keep the run going especially as they're on a terrible run themselves but I will be counting exactly zero chickens.
Hopefully we'll find a performance and do them but head is saying 1 - 1.

They are in poor form and i think we can nick this one by the odd goal and close the gap even further.

I think this is the sort of game where we step on the banana skin and lose to a team we should beat (on current form). But for some reason I think we'll avoid that tonight and win 1-0.

Just can't see us scoring tonight, but I think we'll be OK.

Oh dear. I seem to have dropped a clanger there don't I? Embarassed :soz:

In my own defence I can only say I got distracted while I was typing my prediction and somehow thought the game was last night. Oops.

Preview: Accrington Stanley vs. Bolton Wanderers

Wanderers travel to John Coleman’s Accrington Stanley on Saturday afternoon for a Sky Bet League One clash at the Wham Stadium.

Accrington Stanley currently sit 19th in the Sky Bet League One at the time of writing and have won one in their last five games.

Their last fixture in the league against Rotherham United ended in 1-0 away defeat.

Team News

When speaking to Wanderers boss Keith Hill in his pre-match press conference, he informed bwfc.co.uk that there are no new injury concerns from our last time out against MK Dons.

Head to Head

Wanderers and Accrington Stanley have never faced each other since Accy reformed in 1968.

The two teams had only met once previously and that was back in 1926.

It was a Third Round F.A. Cup clash which ended 1-0 to the Whites, with David Jack scoring the sole goal.

Match Coverage:

As usual, match updates will be provided by the club’s official twitter account (@OfficialBWFC). We will keep you up to date with the action to ensure you don’t miss a kick – delivering a match report shortly after the final whistle with post-match reaction from manager, Keith Hill.

Live commentary will also be available by the iFollow BWFC channel (subscribe via the website), with the BBC Radio Manchester team providing the coverage.

Betting Odds

Stanley are the favourites heading into this one. The home side are fancied to take this one by Sky Bet and are priced at 19/20 at the time of writing.

We are priced at 13/5 to take all three points and you can get the draw at 12/5.

Man in the Middle:

Saturday afternoon’s game will be officiated by Anthony Backhouse.

He has officiated 13 matches this season with his latest a 2-1 away victory for Portsmouth against Harrogate Town in the F.A. Cup First Round.

This season, he has dished out 44 yellow cards and one red card.

During his six seasons in the professional refereeing ranks, Backhouse has never refereed a Wanderers game.

Wade Smith and Matthew Parry will act as his assistants, with Thomas Parson the fourth official for Saturday’s fixture.

Key Man for the Dons – Colby Bishop

When looking at the Accrington Stanley side, Colby Bishop is the main man leading the line for John Coleman’s side.

The 23-year-old made his name in National League North, where he was Leamington’s talisman for two years.

He has six goals to his name in Sky Bet League One so far, with his last goal scoring involvement a brace in a 2-0 home victory against Ipswich Town.

The Oxford English Dictionary has accepted a new definition:

Masochist (Mass-Oh-Kist): A person who derives pleasure (sexual or otherwise) from receiving pain OR a Bolton Wanderers Football Club supporter

I would prefer sexual than BWFC.

I think there's one obvious lesson to draw from today. We should drink more milk.
