Coronavirus - will we survive?

We are getting her tested today and wll get the result in a couple of days. They are coming here to test her as we don't have a car so can't go to a drive through testing centre. We won't be tested as it just for the person with symptoms.

She does have a cough but hopefully that's all it is and it's not the dreaded Coronavirus.

Test has come back negative thankfully so back to normal from tomorrow.

Just out of interest Norpig, how are the results of the test given to you? E-mail, phone call?

They rang me first and then sent out a confirmation email. The whole process only took 48 hours so can't complain.

Glad it’s turned out negative again Norpig. I did think we had a test that gave results in around 20 mins but looks like I’m incorrect on that.

I don't think you are.

I'm certain I've read also that there were two tests for seeing if people 'have' it (as opposed to the thing in the papers now about the test to find out if people HAD it) and the swab tests took about 48 hours but blood tests around 20 mins.

I'm guessing the blood tests are done in hospitals though because they can't wait 48 hours but in the community people can isolate whilst they await the results.

And another thing. Why does everything the government bring in have to happen in a week or two?

If you have to wear face masks, wear them from today, not next week. If you're having a quarantine start it immediately.
