I think Harrogate are an average team in this division and we just about edged it. No doubt there's been some improvement in defence since last week and it showed especially in the second half. We looked more organised  and we kept our defensive shape for the most part but there was a cost i.e. when we broke up play we tended to give the ball straight back to them as there was a big gap to the forward(s) who became quite isolated - and the midfielders seemed more intent on holding the defensive line rather than breaking in numbers when we did get possession.
If we can keep the shape and find a way of keeping the ball to get forward at the appropriate times we'll be challengers but from that performance I just think there's still a long way to go.
Tougher challenges ahead but at least it seems to have started moving in the right direction.

There you go Wander, you said some nice things about the boys. It wasn't hard, now was it?  Very Happy  (a very good summation).

I have no problem with "the boys" (other than their passing and movement Smile ) - it's just how we are playing as a team and whilst they have clearly taken their defensive duties to heart we need more than that to live up to the hype. Hopefully it will come soon.

I'm still in the "hope" column but if performances continue to improve Imight start believing.
Although I've made that mistake before Smile
