Marcos Alonso

I thought it was bad enough him seemingly getting away with manslaughter. Now, three average-horrendous performances into the season, he's getting a new contract (or so the Daily Mirror thinks).
I wouldn't mind knowing who he prays to!

Does anybody know the deal with his court case? Has the club lost the plot completely in offering him a new contract?

I don't know how Spanish law works but he wrote his car off and killed his female passenger whilst over the drink driving limit. It's a complete mystery to me as to why he hasn't been prosecuted.

The article in the Mirror is by Alan Nixon so it could well be true.

It does seem a bit strange to see him running around celebrating on the pitch when you consider everything that's happened.

Does he have a Twitter account ? Perhaps someone could tweet him regarding the terrible incident ?

Court case aside:

Hes far to slow for a full back, he gets beat by any sort of pacy winger, hopefully Coyle will give Warnock a start sooner than later,

however I do see sense in giving him a new contract, hes only 21 so he could develop into a really good player, best to get all our young players to sign on again so we don't end up losing them if the last day comes and we haven't been promoted, hes not going to be on high wages and to be honest good full backs arn't easy to find.

I can't make my mind up on Alonso, he has the potential to be a good full back if he used his brain more and stayed back and not stray out of position as his pace, or lack of it really hinders his game.

As for the court case, it seems very strange to me how he hasn't been punished, either he has a great lawyer or the spanish police have forgotten about it.

Would still rather see him on the left wing.

He's slower than Paul Mason.

but he's illusive, he can beat people, has skill, he likes to shoot and crosses the ball early.
