It is unlikely that many readers will struggle to recognise the subject matter for this week’s aerial photograph which was taken in December 1981.
Taken less than a month after a major blaze destroyed much of the Albert Halls, you can see the blackened hole of the roofless building in front of the town hall clock as we are looking at it.
At the bottom of the picture, the new court building is nearing completion and from this angle you get a totally different view of Le Mans Crescent, and the magnificent frontage along Queen Street.
Ashburner Street bus and coach station is in the bottom right of the picture. What other town centre landmarks can you spot in the photograph?
