I've always loved the Rambo films, but this week I've watched them all in HD for the first time and they look even better.

Surely everyone has seen the Rambo films and think they're brilliant? Particularly the second and third efforts.

I love them all, the first one has to be my favorite, dealing partly with how american soldiers suffered after they got back from Vietnam.

The last one was very brutal but also very good.

I saw first blood part II (i think?!) it's the one where he's in Nam.

Good but the script is another planet of awful.

(yes i do think action films need a good script)

You bloody idiot, that's a great script!

Rambo goes into Vietnam on his own with just a knife, takes out half the Vietcong, rescues POW's who've been missing for 15 years and then flies them all out in a helicopter.

That's fucking amazing writing!

That isn't the script. Thats the plot.

It's the same thing in a Rambo movie. Somethimes you don't need great dialogue.

Having said that, when that Vietnam woman is dying and says "don't forget me", that's original writing at its best.

Yes it's up there with Citizen Kane.

He has that terrible speech at the end in the airport. Laughable.

Good fun though, good action.

Leon is the best action movie ever though for me.

i once went out with a bloke who made me watch all the rambo films back-to-back, he reckoned it was the only way to tell if we were "meant for each other". we weren't, i hated them.

Not watched these for years, may give them a try, was thinking they might be a bit dated...

The first one maybe, but the next two don't seem dated one bit.

First Blood was the best with Brian Dennehy as the dodgy sheriff. The last Rambo film was a bit gory. Rambo with a crossbow will never beat Burt Reynolds in Deliverance.

Fantastic film - well worth getting on DVD or Netflix or whatever it is that people do these days.

Never seen the Rambo films and they don't interest me, also never seen the Rocky films and, again, don't interest me......

Give me Tour Of Duty, the series, any day - far superior to any John Ramdo film, anyday!!!!
