I think that all this might have been pre planned in the respect that they are simply fitted to know the amount you are using and charge accordingly. Some people have given incorrect readings in I would have thought to pay less.

It stops people stealing gas by switching meters over Willy nilly.

If you don’t pay after having the smart meters fitted then you are simply cut off the supply at the press of a button. Voila! It saves the companies costs and time with legal action, bailiffs and locksmiths!

The gas meter hasn't been sending readings back from the off, and I'm having to send my own readings. 
The electric meter was fine until the 18th of June, but now that's stopped sending readings.
This is DAB radio all over again.

The gas meter is under the sink, so I have to get down on my knees and get my head under. Once I'm down there I need a hoist to get back up.
It's undignified. Why doesn't anything work any more?
Might as well blame the Tories. They've fucked up everything else.
