One thing (amongst many) that I've never really understood is whilst teams have the same shirt they all wear, that keepers seem to be able to choose what they like - as long as it is clearly distinctive to all the other players (and officials).
I've never known for certain if we had a first team keepers coloured shirt or if it was the keepers style choice to match his eyes or something.
If my memory doesn't play tricks on me I always thought keepers wore green - and that applied to both teams keepers on match day?
Hopkinson always played in green as far as I remember?

Except when he played for England who always played in yellow?

Charlie Wright and Barry Siddall are shown in green jerseys...

...but for some reason I remember Siddall playing mostly in blue?

Jim McDonagh certainly played in blue...

and of course, green.

But then we have Branagan in Green and blue at the same time...

...and this!!!

...which frankly I don't remember (away at Sheffield Wednesday, apparently).
Then jussi broke the mould with his yellow...

...grey...

...and pink jerseys!

So, do we have an official 'team' coloured keepers jersey or can they play in whatever colour they want (as long as they stand out from the other players)?
And what colour should we adopt as ours if we don't officially have one?
