GB tennis resurgence

Great overnight news that GB's Cameron Norrie has won the prestigious Indian Wells tournament and will rise to 16th in the world rankings, having started the year 74th.

This follows Emma Raducanu's remarkable victory in the US Open a short while ago.

With Dan Evans also making waves in the men's game, there must surely be a reason why we suddenly have enough success to offset Andy Murray's inevitable injury-affected decline. 

Worth noting too the numerous successes of Andy's brother, Jamie, in doubles, and similar triumphs for our wheelchair competitors.

Well done Norrie, but I think he's peaked and I'd be surprised if Radacanu ever wins another major, still we can live in hope. Both had favourable draws and circumstances that kept them away from the top players but a win's a win and let's enjoy it without putting more pressure on them.
