Ian Evatt has revealed Eoin Doyle is a doubt for Wanderers’ trip to Stockport County but says the forward’s injury is “nothing serious”.
Doyle missed Friday night’s 2-0 win against Crewe Alexandra at the UniBol due to a calf problem.
Evatt says he will make a late decision over whether to include the Irishman, who has scored six times this season.
“We decided not to risk Eoin on Friday, he’s got a slight calf issue and we still haven’t decided what to do with that yet, whether to risk it or leave it a few more days. But it’s nothing serious,” said the Bolton boss.
“Everyone else has come through fine. It was great yesterday for Xav (Amaechi) to get some minutes in the legs, and Baka and everyone else came through fine on Friday so things are looking very positive.”
Amadou Bakayoko started up front against Crewe in Doyle’s absence, scoring his fourth goal of the season.
And Evatt is wary of rushing the forward back too soon given the Whites’ busy schedule in the coming weeks.
“(Doyle is) about as touch and go as you can get,” he added. “As I said, it’s not a serious thing. We decided not to take the risk because of the amount of fixtures we’ve got coming up.
“Has it got significantly better? The answer is probably no, but it’s not a big issue anyway.
"We are yet to make a call, we’re going to take it to the last minute really and see where we’re at.”
