No doubt the BBC’s poll will be along soon but who do you think deserves to be the sports man or woman of this fabulous sporting year for the Brits?
In no particular order -
1 – Everybody’s golden girl and London Olympic champion – Jess Ennis
2 – The first Brit to win the iconic Tour de France and join holder of the most Olympic medals for Britain including 2012 gold – Bradley Wiggins
3 – London double Olympic gold medal winner – Mo Farah
4 – Winner of the most gold medals ever for Britain in the Olympics 116 year history – Sir Chris Hoy
5 – Arguably the best British sailor since Lord Nelson and winner of the last four Olympic game golds - Ben Ainslie
6 – The dour Scot that broke all our hearts by first winning an Olymic gold then winning the first major tennis tournament by a Brit since Adam was a lad – Andy Murray
7 – Paralympion winner of four Olympic golds at London from the 800m up to and including the marathon and probably the greatest wheelchair athlete in the worls – ever – David Wier
8 – Multi World Champion and Olympic medalist, including a gold in London and Strictly Come Dancing favourite to win – former track cyclist - Victoria Pendleton.
9 – The world’s best golfer and current number one – and faster and younger to win his second major than even Tiger (keep it in your pocket) Woods! – Rory McIlroy
10 – For outstanding management of a football team, ability to pick winners in the transfer market and fighting off all comers to resign Zat Knight to a new two year contract! – Owen Coyle.
Three votes for you to choose - use them well!
