Seems our skipper is a man in demand, with his contract being up in the summer I feel it may be time to cash in. The club don't appear to want to let him go out on loan but maybe willing to sell

And now Sky Sports understands that Sunderland, Wolves, West Brom are all monitoring his situation whilst Old Firm duo Celtic and Rangers are also keen.

I find it hard to believe. He has been a good leader for us but his goalscoring record over the last two years doesn't warrant all this attention from other clubs.

It wouldn't surprise me to see us bring in the guy from Philidelphia and maybe another attacking option and sell davies to Wolves before the window shuts.

Can't quite understand the Wolves connection - they already have Fletcher, Ebanks-Blake, Hunt and Doyle - why would they need Davies too?

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. This is an England International/Club Captain with several years of experience in the Barclays Premier League we're talking about here.

The only link I can think with that one is if they brought in Davies, Ebanks-Blake would be on his way,

But personally I would prefer Ebanks as a target man.

I don't actually think he is in demand, but he's not playing and Journos need to fill inches with something.

it's just not true.

The interest he's getting doesn't surprise me at all. A lot of managers just rush in to sign players based on reputation if they know he could be available on the cheap. That's the only explanation I can think of. Because clubs wouldn't go near him if they'd seen him play 90 minutes this season.

Doffcocker, that's what I just can't understand. Any manager taking on Davies would have to totally change their style of play. Surely they watch all the Premiership games and know which players are performing and which aren't?

I would have thought that Kev's age is against him but stranger things have happened.

I'd keep SKD, we'll need his experience if we're to stay up - not sure Ngog has it in him.

I love Kevin Davies, fantastic player, an absolute legend.

but if the club are offered any money for him and turn it down, well, they need their head checked.

Sunderland are making a £1.5million move for Bolton skipper Kevin Davies.

Black Cats chief Martin O'Neill, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] , wants to take advantage of the fact Davies has lost his regular place in Owen Coyle’s side.

O’Neill needs an old-fashioned number nine and thinks he can get some life out of 34-year-old Davies, whose contract is running out at the Reebok, but wants a decision before the weekend.

Coyle does not want to lose Davies so close to the deadline.

I can only think if we let him go then OC would have a striker or 2 up his sleeve to bring in to replace the big man.

£1.5m is amazing in my opinion.

I'm pleasantly shocked that somebody is willing to pay that much. Then again it is Martin O'Neill.

I'm not in the least bit worried about us struggling to find a replacement as I don't see Davies is suitable back up anyhow.

A penalty in the last minute at Stoke on the last day?

You can see it now!

I would streak to the penalty spot to take it myself before I watched Kevin Davies taking a survival dependent penalty!
