Wanderers are back at Lostock ahead of the upcoming League One season and there has already been a promising sign on the injury front.
Most of the squad are undergoing fitness testing and medical checks before flying out to Portugal this weekend for a week-long training camp.
The club posted a video on social media which shows Kieran Lee among a group of players running on grass.
The midfielder missed the final months of last season after having surgery to treat a bone spur on his heel.
Lee had scored six goals in 30 games prior to his injury, playing an important role in the Whites’ system.
Speaking in March, Wanderers boss Ian Evatt: “His heel, the wound is healing all the time. It has really been the wound that is holding us back the most.
“We need that to close up and stop the soreness. But in terms of inside the heel, the spur has been removed and things are looking really positive.”
New signing Jack Iredale was also present as he prepares for his first season at the UniBol.
The full-back signed a three-year at Wanderers after opting to leave Cambridge at the end of his contract.
Iredale impressed at both ends of the pitch last season and is also comfortable playing as a centre-back.
Dion Charles was also part of the group despite recently being away on international duty with Northern Ireland.
The forward managed an assist as Ian Baraclough’s side drew 2-2 with Cyprus at Windsor Park last weekend.
