James Trafford has been rewarded for his excellent form at Wanderers by getting a call up to the England Under-21 squad.
The Manchester City loanee has been part of a Bolton defence that has conceded just six times in their opening eight games, the joint-best record in League One.
Trafford won his first Young Lions cap playing against Kosovo in May and has now been included in Lee Carsley’s squad for international friendlies against Italy and Germany later this month.
Wanderers have had four other players called up for international duty, with Dion Charles and Conor Bradley included in the Northern Ireland squad to face Kosovo and Greece.

Amadou Bakayoko can add to his five caps for Sierra Leone as they play friendly games against South Africa and Congo DR.
Owen Beck has been called up to the Wales Under-21 squad due to face Austria, and Wanderers are waiting to see whether Jon Dadi Bodvarsson will be named in the Iceland squad for games against Venezuela and Albania.

It is understood the experienced striker will link—up with his country, if selected, having recently returned from a hamstring injury.
Wanderers’ game against Portsmouth on September 24 was called off for international call-ups on either side and a date for the rescheduled game has not yet been set.
