TEAM NEWS: Evatt hopeful minor injuries will clear up for Forest Green 16380802

Wanderers are optimistic that a few minor injuries will clear up in time for Tuesday night’s home game against Forest Green.

Ian Evatt said a handful of his players had reported bumps and bruises after the weekend’s 2-1 defeat at Derby County.

Dan Nlundulu, Will Aimson and Conor Bradley will all be checked out – but the Bolton boss is upbeat about their chances of making his squad.

“I think we have one or two knocks, but nothing major,” he said.

“Dan had a bit of fatigue in his hamstring, so we have to be a little bit cautious with that.

“Will jarred his hip a little bit and Conor Bradley has a kick on his foot. There are one or two others as well but I think they should all be OK. I am not really worried them being available for tomorrow.”

Wanderers will come up against former striker Amadou Bakayoko, one of a cluster of new signings added by Forest Green this month as they look to pull away from the bottom of the league.

Ian Burchnall’s side lost 2-1 at home to MK Dons on Saturday but Evatt believes they have strengthened well in the transfer market.

“They have some good players and obviously Amadou is there now, and we know what he can do,” he added.

“They had five players making their full debuts on Saturday, which is hard to integrate, but it can also give you a big boost, as you saw with us last January.

“It’ll be tough, we know there are no easy games in this division, but our team needs to concentrate on responding to the result on Saturday and making sure we get a positive performance.”

Evatt has reviewed Saturday’s defeat at Derby – and while he remains disappointed with the performance, he feels it can be quickly be consigned to the past.

“I watched the game back twice yesterday and as I said on Saturday they just executed their gameplan better than we did,” he said.

“I don’t remember Traff having many saves to make, I don’t remember their keeper having many saves to make, it was just moments. Their press and the way we struggled to play our press really felt like they were on top, but I think they just took their moments. We made the game too transitional, which suited them, and we’re better than that.

“It is a positive for me. That is the best they can be, but we can be a lot, lot better, and the game was still relatively tight.

“You are allowed to lose games, it doesn’t mean the world is over.”
