Aston Villa has taken 19 year old Jamaican schoolboy Brian Brown on trial. Brown emerged the top striker in the recently concluded schoolboy football season and was recommended to Aston Villa by this chap no one has heard of really, apparently he used to play for Aston Villa for a while himself - some guy named Dwight Yorke.
Brown is speedy, skillful and scores goals for fun. He has a mean free-kick and has a very bright future ahead of him, if nurtured properly. My question is, why isn't he at Bolton instead? Next season when Bibi leaves, he should be keeping an eye out in the Caribbean for players to bring on trial. Relatively cheap, excellent athletes and no AFCON to require mass exodus at any point. Win-win, I say. We need to expand our nets to get the best talent available outside of the usual places.
