Wanderers plan to charge top whack when Wrexham visit the Toughsheet Community Stadium for their first home game of the League One season.
Fans of the Welsh club, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Renyolds and Rob McElhenney, and managed by ex-Bolton boss Phil Parkinson, will pay Category A prices for the televised game on Sunday, August 18 (3pm kick-off).
There has not yet been any confirmation on Wrexham’s allocation, or whether they will be given one or two tiers of the South Stand for their first game at this level of football in 15 years.
But matchday tickets for home supporters will cost from £30 for adults, £25 for Over-65s/Under-23s, £19 for Under-18s and £12 for Under-12s, which will mirror costs for the away fans too.
Wrexham have achieved back-to-back promotions from the National League and achieved global fame as the subject of a popular Disney Plus documentary.
Sources at the club are expecting a large travelling contingent despite ticket prices being higher than anything they have faced in recent years.
Wanderers will put home tickets for their first 10 home games of the season on sale next week, with dates now confirmed up to mid-December with broadcasters, Sky Sports.
Chief executive Neil Hart confirmed 15,777 season tickets have now been sold but hoped that plenty more supporters could be encouraged to watch Ian Evatt’s side take their first steps in the new campaign.
He told the club: “With the new broadcast deal in place, we are committed to giving our supporters as much time as is possible to plan accordingly and ensure they don’t miss out on all of the action.
“Our first home fixture against Wrexham, in front of the Sky cameras, is set to be a mouth-watering clash and we want as many Wanderers’ fans inside the Toughsheet next month to showcase everything that is great about our football club.
“We can also confirm that tickets for all home games up until mid-December will be on sale by the end of next week, supporters are being given the opportunity to purchase match tickets earlier than ever.
“With so much to look forward to this season and 15,777 season tickets holders already securing your seat, we urge any Wanderers supporters to join us on this exciting journey whether you are purchasing match tickets, season ticket holders or joining us in one of our fabulous hospitality suites.”
Meanwhile, a player who was linked with Wanderers earlier this summer, George Byers, has now completed a move from Sheffield Wednesday to League Two Port Vale.
The 28-year-old links up once again with his former Owls boss Darren Moore and could line-up against the Whites in their final pre-season friendly at Vale Park on August 3.
Moore said the Valiants had beaten higher league clubs to the midfielder’s signature.
“George is a player who I know really well from my time at Sheffield Wednesday,” he said. “His energy, drive and quality on the ball will be attributes that are appreciated by our supporters.
“We have met with George a few times over the last couple of weeks and although there has been strong interest at levels above League Two, he has quickly bought into the wider project that is ongoing here at Vale Park and what we are trying to build.”
