Getting more de javu!
We play half decent and win 2-0 away in the cup. All coinciding with holdens second comeback.
I hope to god we dont get any bad news regarding him tomorrow.

Having just seen Titus Brambles shirt I might put a call in to see if he is prepared to put his money where his shirt is and sponsor our Nigerian scout for a month.

I doubt we've turned a corner. Take a lot more to convince me

I don't think were too far off.
With Sordell playing well and Craig Davies's record we should have two goal scoring strikers, we haven't even had one of them all season up to now.
Or midfield was already pretty good for this level imo and with Vela, Holden and a soon to return M.Davies we suddenly have loads of choices there (remember last year, we hardly had any central midfielders).
A few defenders brought in by Dougie and a returning Wheater and we may have a very different starting 11 to before January!
Im not saying we will get to the play offs, that would require an unbelievable run of form, but I think we will finish the season in relatively high spirits, looking forward to next seasons promotion push.

But then if Holden, mavies and lee play brilliantly till the end of the season an we don't go up then we will more than likely lose them and be back to square one at the start of next season.
Hopefully the club show ambition and make sure they keep hold of our better players.

Ha ha, some of you are dreaming. One good victory in the cup and all our problems are solved.
Come 3pm on Saturday Dougie will have learned nothing. Bogdan will be back in goal, Sordell back on the bench, Kevin Davies back for the full 90 minutes and Craig Davies out shopping with his missus.
If he changes things now it will be like admiting he was wrong, so it won't happen. Manager ego trumps "best team" every day of the week.

Manager's Sunderland Reaction
"We had a game-plan which we stuck to," says Freedman after the win at the Stadium of Light
Dougie Freedman was pleased with the manner of his side’s victory, as Wanderers turned in a finely-tuned performance to ease their way into the next round of the FA Cup defeating Premier League opponents Sunderland on their own patch.
Marvin Sordell netted a brace after the interval, one of which came from the penalty spot, to secure a 2-0 triumph and set up a fourth round tie against Everton at the Reebok.
Speaking in his post-match press conference Freedman said: "It was very pleasing, not only to win the match but to also keep a clean sheet.
"I’m delighted because we thoroughly deserved the win. We had a game-plan which we stuck to.
"We slowly worked our way into the game. In the first half we were compact and solid at the back and deal with the threats that Sunderland posed.
"We also passed and moved the ball very well and by the end of the 90 minutes the team that won the game deserved it.
"We had to come here and defend properly, stay in the right zone and the right areas and quieten the crowd. Credit to the players, that was exactly what they did.
"We are trying to pass our way through and that’s the way I want us to play going forward. Certainly in the last 20 minutes we were well on top with our passes and created a number of opportunities.
"You have to base this on a good defence and a solid work ethic and as a team we did exactly that.
"We have been playing some very good football of late, but sometimes without the results. The key for us is to keep on going and carry on doing what we believe in and supporting each other.
"Thanks to the travelling fans. Their backing was great. They were loud and stuck with us for the full game. It’s a long way to come for a midweek game and we really appreciate it. Hopefully they’ll enjoy their trip home."

got to give Sordell a decent run in the team now, also Pratley didn't deserve to be dropped for the Millwall game so hopefully he has turned a corner now and can become the player he was at Swansea.
Hope these rumours about Ricketts leaving are just that - he can play anywhere across the back four and looks to be a good centre-half as well as full back.

I wasn't long ago that you were complaining that he used too much squad rotation.
You can't claim to be right if you guess everything negative that can possibly happen.

Presumably the 6 changes were made with a view to resting players for Saturday so it's only to be expected that this team won't play.

I don't get your point. He's stumbled on his best team by fluke and should learn from his previous mistakes and keep the same team for Palace.
Or would you rather see Bogdan, Ngog, K.Davies etc back in the team?

That team includes Knight, Alonso and Mears at the back. Are you now saying that they are first choice and that Freedman should stick with them?
