Steve De Ridder has become Wanderers’ fifth addition of the January transfer window, after the Belgian winger agreed an initial one-month loan from Southampton.

The 25-year-old, who can play on either flank, has been with the St Mary’s club since the summer of 2011 and played a key role in the side’s promotion to the Premier League last season.

Prior to his spell with the south coast club, De Ridder – which translates to ‘The Knight’ – plied his trade in the Netherlands with De Graafschap over a three-year period.

He played 36 games in the Championship last season when Southampton walked it. I hope Dougie is going to put him straight in the team.

Perhaps our international man of mystery, the Tower Hamlets traveller, may be able to shed some light on this player?

One month seems a little pointless, however MarcIles said we could possibly extend it when the loan window opens.

De Ridder was apparently on Dougie's radar, when he managed Palace. De Ridder should be a useful player in the Championship. I don't think he'll cost a fortune, if Dougie wants him on a permanent deal.

i thought he did ok today at Watford.
