Everyone has a favourite memory of playing Burnley.

My particular favourite was the 2-2 draw at Turf Moor in 1994 when we were losing 2-1 and down to 9 men. 8 men if you consider the fact DeFreitas was on the pitch.

Nicky Spooner had been carried off on a stretcher after an awful tackle by Burnley fat bastard John Gayle that ended his career.

McGinlay refused to throw the ball back to Burnley even though they'd kicked it out to allow treatment for Spooner. From the throw-in we got a corner, and from the corner Simon Coleman powered in the equaliser on his debut.

Brilliant stuff. I love an edge in the crowd and a bit of agro on the pitch. Those were the days when the players cared and got proper stuck in.

I miss them.

That was brilliant. They still haven't forgiven Super John for that.

When was it Super John scored and we won 1-0 there?

I can still remember the goal. A Burnley defender fucks up a clearance and Mark Patterson gets it on the left wing, crosses it to Super John who scores with a diving header. And we all went fucking mental. Brilliant stuff.

John McGinlay is a Juan Anchor is a Juan Anchor.

I was at that game but it was only recently that I learnt that Big Bad Johnny Gayle had ended Spooner's career. It's funny how opposition fans don't always see certain tackles/fouls in games.

Games that I remember at Burnden Park involved battling going in and battling getting out. You had your fair share of aggro merchants once of a day and Burnden Park could be quite intimidating to visit.

I remember seeing a lad get bit by a police dog outside Burnley years ago. No idea who he supported.

Nothing unusual in that. It is what they are trained to do. I can remember a Leeds fan having a ruck with a copper with a dog at Burnden Park in the seventies and he took the piss by pretending to bite the dog which was snarling at him on the leash. The dog lunged forward and nicked the end of his nose. Another inch and it would have took his nose off.

I can remember a couple police dogs getting kicked all over Manny Road North. Think it was against Wolves one year. The police and their dogs were forced out.

I also saw someone punch a police horse once. Funnily enough it was against Wolves again.

Bloody Wolves. Never been able to get on with their fans.

Baggies at least have a sense of humour, but Wolves...
