Burnley 2-0 Bolton

Bolton will visit Turf Moor for their opening game against Burnley.

I predict a 2-0 win to us, with 2 goals from Sordell. (providing he starts)

What do you think the score will be? Who will start?

If Sordell and/or Afobe play then going for a Bolton win of 2-1. If neither are involved then going for a loss of 2-0 to Burnley. Either way, we won't keep a clean sheet.

3-1 bolton - Sordell, Petrov and SKD.

Very difficult to predict without knowing Coyle's team selection. I hope we win but I think it will be a draw unless Sordell starts. It is also difficult to see us keeping a clean sheet.

I predicted 2-0 Burnley a few weeks ago ..... not seen much to change my mind so far.
Needless to say I hope I am way wrong and we go unbeaten the whole season.

Depends on Coyle's team selection for me. I have a feeling he's going to go 5 in midfield with BFSKD on his own up front. 3-0 defeat in those circumstances. If he plays Sordell and Afobe upfront together with the pace of Petrov on the wing (unlikely I know) I think we could take them apart.

Hi Hip Priest, I'm always doing battle with doffcocker over his views of Kevin Davies.

I do find it a bit odd that you don't want to slag him off but you're using the insulting acronym "BFSKD".

For what it's worth, I don't think there's the slightest chance Davies will be on his own up front vs Burnley. When he has played in pre-season games its been with Ngog, Sordell, Afobe or Eagles either alongside or just behind him.

I also don't see how having Davies up front on his own (as opposed to Sordell and Afobe) would cause us to concede 3 goals either.

Out of Afobe, Davies, Ngog and Sordell I think we have an enviable front line for the Championship. Out of the four I think Davies is our weakest and I hope Coyle feels the same. However, a player like Davies could well suit the Championship and may work well with a player like Sordell or Afobe - UnGog could be the one out in the cold.

I believe Longeran (or whatever) has been impressing in goal but would Coyle really pick him above ginge?
