Speaking in his post-match press conference, Freedman said:“Hull are a good side and sitting second in the table and they are having a good season. We knew what kind of threats they had and worked hard to nullify them.
“We tweaked the team with three changes, and we played Mark Davies just behind the two strikers and looked to attack from the off.
“It was a well worked first goal and really that set the tone for the rest of the game. We didn’t' want to sit back. We hit them quickly, and it was pleasing to see our movement when we had the ball and how hard we worked when we didn’t.
“As you would have expected at the start of the second half, Hull tried to get a quick goal to get back into the match but we didn’t allow them too many opportunities.
“We worked well as a team both in defence and in attack. We were good box to box and responded well when they score midway through the second half.
“We showed throughout the game our character and quality, let’s not forget Hull are currently second in the league so they were high on confidence.
“Our attitude was good, we created and took our chances and we were on the front foot for the majority of the game. It is a good result but we don’t get too carried away.
“We continue to work hard in training and naturally it is pleasing when everything comes together like it did today. Again full credit to our fans who were very vocal throughout like they have been during the last couple of home games.
“It was pleasing to get another victory and we now turn our attention to Peterborough. It is a quick turnaround but we will be looking for a positive result.”
