It was bad enough when I was at school. All it took was a teacher to be seen looking in the wrong direction, and he was a "perv" for years and years. I doubt the fuss made over the Jimmy Saville case and subsequent revelations alike have helped this.

Somebody phoned the police and they arrived just as he was driving off. They stopped him and recovered the footage from his camcorder and proceeded to arrest him for conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace / public order.
I don't know what he said on interview but the police searched his home and took away his computer for analysis. They didn't charge him but they bailed him for a month to return to the station once they had examined his computer and completed their enquiries.
The night before he was due to return to the police station he committed suicide. Because of the circumstances of his death an inquest was held and there were no reporting restrictions.
What emerged at the inquest was that the man had no previous convictions or cautions and was not known to the police up until his arrest. By all accounts he had been a hard working family man who doted on his two daughters and grandchildren and nobody had a bad word to say about him.
The police check on his computer revealed nothing untoward and the inquest determined that he had probably committed suicide because of the shame of what he had done.
What he did was totally out of character but the repercussions cost him his life. Instead of enjoying retirement with his grandkids a few moments of madness cost him everything.
I suspect he was probably harking back to his youth with no sinister element involved, other than his own gratification.
My question is.... Is he somebody who should be on the sex offenders register.
